One of the best low profile keyboards
The NuPhy Air96 is a low-profile mechanical keyboard known for its sleek design, portability, and solid performance. Hereâs a detailed review based on common features users have highlighted:Design & Build Quality⢠Slim & Lightweight: The Air96 has an ultra-thin chassis, which makes it one of the thinnest mechanical keyboards available. Its low-profile design is appealing to those who want a modern, minimal aesthetic.⢠Materials: The frame is made of a combination of aluminum and plastic, offering a lightweight feel while maintaining durability.⢠Keycaps: The Air96 features low-profile PBT keycaps, which are known for their durability and resistance to wear over time. The keycaps have a good texture, and legends are usually sharp and clear.Switch Options⢠The Air96 offers low-profile Gateron mechanical switches, which come in different variants like red (linear), brown (tactile), and blue (clicky). These switches are much shorter than standard switches, offering a faster actuation, making typing or gaming feel more responsive.⢠Users often appreciate the smoothness of the Gateron low-profile red switches for fast and quiet typing or gaming.Typing Experience⢠Low Travel Distance: Being a low-profile keyboard, the Air96 has a shorter travel distance compared to traditional mechanical keyboards. This gives it a laptop-like typing experience, but with the tactility and responsiveness of mechanical switches.⢠Comfort: Its ergonomic design and low profile help reduce strain on the wrists, especially for extended typing sessions.Connectivity & Compatibility⢠The keyboard offers both wired (USB-C) and wireless (Bluetooth 5.0) options. You can easily switch between multiple devices, making it a versatile choice for users who work across different platforms.⢠It supports multi-device pairing, which is convenient for switching between, for instance, a PC, tablet, and phone.⢠Battery Life: With wireless use, the Air96 offers decent battery life, lasting up to a few weeks on a single charge, depending on the backlighting usage.Backlighting⢠The Air96 features RGB backlighting with various customization options. It can sync with the typing patterns, and users can adjust the brightness or choose from a variety of effects.⢠The backlighting on the Air96 is not as bright as some thicker mechanical keyboards due to its low-profile design, but itâs still functional in darker environments.Performance⢠The keyboard offers a very responsive typing experience, especially in gaming. The low-profile switches reduce the actuation force and travel distance, resulting in faster response times.⢠Users find the wireless connection reliable, with minimal latency during typing or casual gaming.Pros⢠Sleek, slim design with premium materials⢠Comfortable low-profile typing experience⢠Wireless and multi-device support⢠Solid battery life⢠Responsive low-profile mechanical switchesCons⢠RGB backlighting is not as bright compared to standard mechanical keyboards⢠Might not be ideal for users who prefer the deeper key travel of traditional mechanical keyboards⢠Lacks advanced features like hot-swappable switchesConclusionThe NuPhy Air96 is an excellent choice for those looking for a slim, portable mechanical keyboard with a good balance of performance and aesthetics. Its combination of low-profile design and mechanical switch feel makes it suitable for both typists and casual gamers, though those looking for a more traditional mechanical experience may miss the deeper key travel.

Awesome keyboard, came with really high quality extras
It's surprisingly compact for a nearly full sized keyboard, more so in person than I expected. The entire profile is quite slim, but the keys have less travel but enough not be an issue when typing - if anything, it feels a bit more responsive that way. I have the moss switches - they are very tactile and clicky but perhaps not quite as satisfying as a full-sized blue, on the upside - they are quieter (they still very much sound mechanical, however). The colors are vibrant and look as good as in the photo. The plastic is a semi-matte and moderately grippy but not rubbery. The RGB works fine though I usually keep that off anyway - thankfully, it's entirely controllable from the keyboard itself. The connectivity using the 2.4 seems fine - my tower is close to the keyboard but under a desk, as such, my previous keyboards often missed strokes, but this one hasn't yet.The keyboard came with a fancy keycap puller, a very nice and quite long usb-c cable, the inner keyboard packaging is designed so that it's obviously intended to be an included dust cover, plus the manual is neat, short and to the point.Overall, it seems like it's a product the company actually cares about. Also, it came with stickers of an anime girl themed on the keyboard, done by an actual artist. Did not expect that. 10/10.

One of the best low profile keyboards packed with features
Overall has a really great feel. I would recommend getting one of the tactile options (even if you normally prefer linear on standard mechanicals). I don't use this to game but more so for productivity at my home desk setup.Backlighting is great with A LOT of different options for whatever your preference might be. Plenty of switch options so you're bound to find one that suits your needs. Build is nice with 3 adjustable angles using the built in feet. Fully customizable in terms of key mapping using QMK/VIA. Battery life is stellar and quite possibly the best in the low profile mechanical keyboard world. Keyboard wakes up quickly and is very responsive overall. The only "con" is in comparison to some other low profile keyboards out there that are beginning to offer gasket mounted builds, which offer a much softer and smoother typing experience, but tend to lack a lot of other features that are included on this.In terms of "office safe" - I'd probably say this isn't it. It's certainly much quieter than other full sized mechanical keyboards, but it's still pretty audible even with the linear switches.Overall, best bang for the buck as of right now! Especially if you can get it 15-20% off when it's on sale here or on Nuphys website.

Bought new, was delivered be used.
Love the keyboard, and it's in good working condition. The issue here is that I received it in a totally beat up box, and it's very clearly used and not new. The contents were not laid out how they should have been and there are scratches on the Ctrl key. This is a premium product and I expect to get what I paid for. I thought it would be better to order through Amazon, but it's hard not to recommend ordering through Nuphy directly.
