Impressive!
Wow! I've had several budget guitars in the 25+ years I've played and this one was a surprise. I bought the Redid RD-100 in brown. The finish looks and feels great. Only complaint on the finish is I would like to see the grain come through the color a bit more (grain is more prominent in the pics compared to in-person). Tuners feel fine and it stays in tune pretty well. The pickups were a big surprise. I usually switch out cheap pups with something else, but these sound really nice. I took some readings and the neck is 7.3k and the bridge 13.3k. I usually like the neck around 8k but the bridge is a little hotter than I look for. The sound is great, though. Nice, warm sound that I would expect from a guitar like this.I made a few adjustments out of the box; changed strings, oiled the fretbooard and adjusted the truss rod and action. After that it plays really nice. I also switched out the knobs for reflector knobs (I hate the look of speed knobs). I also threw some finger slicers(knob pointers) on.The only real con of this guitar is the pots. They worked fine from the factory, BUT they're the wrong taper. They used linear for all 4(2xvol, 2xtone) and it works OK for tone, but the volume pots are useless after 3 or 4. I switched them out for some logarithmic taper pots from The Art of Tone and the volume works much better.I'm just a guitar hobbyist player and I use semi-hollow for all types of music when I play; rock, metal, clean etc. This guitar does it all. Ask Larry Carlton. From Beatles chime to Alex Lifeson to Josh Homme you can't go wrong with a 335-style guitar. Overall, this was a very satisfying purchase.

Great for the price.
Brown semi hollow body guitar, delivered in a week. Basic packing, surprised it didn't get damaged. Been playing since 1980. I have cheap, expensive and home made guitars. This one has No issues. Looks great, nice finish. Crappy strings but feels good. Frets are straight and rounded at edges. No sharp edges. Intonation is really close. Action is super low but has a mild buzz at 14 across all. 1/4 turn will fix that without sacrificing action. Won't take much to tweak. Expected a better sound of mellow from neck pick up. Average pick ups can be swapped out but playability is amazing on mine for a starter priced guitar. Don't expect a diamond but I will play this guitar out live. Worth having as a spare.

Great Budget Guitar
If you are looking for an inexpensive 335 style guitar, this is it. In an effort to make this a short read, here are some pros and cons. This is a fun guitar that I played for 3 hours straight after receiving it. I have zero regrets.Pro:1. Quick delivery2. $159 for a NEW guitar!3. Looks cool, I got the orange one and it is very orange4. Sounds good, especially with a nice amp and some effect pedals5. The action on mine was set super low which made for easy fretting of notes6. The fret ends are rounded and not sharp at all7. The pots are actually responsive to changes in volume and tone8. The tuners are better than expected and the guitar holds tune well even when bending strings9. The nuts is cut well and has even string spacing, so far the guitar has stayed in tune while playing10. They placed an all black truss rod cover on mine which was different from the picture. I think this improves the overall look of the guitar, the extra writing of REDID RD100 was gaudy, and mimics a Gibson ES-335.Cons:1. There are several blemishes in the finish, mine has scratches and swirls on the front and spots where it looks like a finger or something stuck to the finish2. The inlay on my 7th fret is not level so you can feel it when you bend the strings3. The pickups are microphonic, so when you start stacking pedals or add too much gain you can hear it squeal4. The bottom isn't quite round so it doesn't look exactly like the more expensive 335 style guitars, but this is just a personal critique of the aesthetic5. Plastic nut6. The volume and tone knobs aren't aligned correctly with the 10 facing the screws when it is turned all the way up. When I went to remove the knob, I pulled the stem of the pot out as well, it still works, but has kind of discouraged me from trying to fix the alignment of the knobs.Overall, if you are looking for an inexpensive 335 style guitar, this is worth a shot. You can always add nicer pots and pickups in the future if you want, but this thing is ready to go for an amateur/enthusiast guitar player.

A very good guitar for a great price
My RD-100 came somewhat flimsily boxed, but was in one piece, thankfully. It looked great out of the box but i had to cut the nut slots lower and intonate it - two things that are to be expected on these budget guitars. The frets were level and in good shape. The neck had slight relief, which i like, and i was able to get the action as low as i like it without any buzzing. The humbucker pickups sound ok. I might replace them one day, but i truly don't think it's worth the hassle right now - time will tell. It's a tough job changing pick-ups in a semi-hollow body guitar and these seem ok, so far. The tuners are cheap (to be expected) but are working fine. I'll probably change them out for some $30.00 Guyker locking tuners here on Amazon, eventually, but for now i'm having no problems with them. These make great studio guitars once you set them up as you like. I don't think i would want to take them on the road for very long - they might not stand up to all that abuse over time. All in all, a very good guitar (once you set it up) for an unbelievable price!

What A Bargain!
This guitar has performed beyond my expectations. What beautiful tone it has with new D'Aderio strings. When I played it on a gig tonight, it was amazing. I have a feeling that it will be even better after a few weeks of acclimating and getting used to my style of playing. I have yet to set the intonation it to perfection because it sounds so rich and beautiful as is. The other plus is that it is not too heavy for an old guy, like me. I recommend this Ried version of a 335 for more than the affordability, but for the beautiful play-ability and tones as well.
