Easy to setup and provided strong wi-fi to an upstairs room (used powerline adaptor connection). Good value for the price.

This multi-purpose device allows several options:* Cabled-to-LAN Wireless WISP routing (with built-in DHCP for the new subnode) - good for a guest WiFi with reasonable (but not perfect) isolation from the main subnode peripherals - including two WISP-side network sockets.* Cabled-to-LAN Wireless extension as well as WiFi provision (LAN bridge)* Wi-Fi repeater as well as provision of two wired outletsIt comes with power brick and a 4x array of orientable antennae. Wi Fi (dual band) is strong and with good beam-forming performance to provide some directional orientation when transmitting.Some advanced settings are offered (subnode choice, DHCP range, firewall options.. Port forwarding is cumbersome to set up (most won't need to so no big deal)I dock it one star as, very occasionally in WISP mode (not checked the others) it can lock up requiring a power cycle. I've added a daily scheduled reboot at an innocuous hour and since then had no issue - fingers crossed)

At first the product alwas everything I needed it to be but after a month both the Ethernet and the WIFI started cutting out regularly.Tried to get some customer service to fix it but after the first reply email they have gone silent.

Absolutely brilliant, wired my broadband into it and use it as the WiFi. Great signal strength throughout the house and even out in the garden. I get 170Mbps on 250 broadband when I'm in the garden.

Update: Well what got off to a good start ended quickly. Now returned for a refund. All well until you put a real load on it then it starts to suffer from poor performance. Four users and one using Teams and the packet loss increased. Seems okay for light use only.This is a review of the WN530HG3 unit. It has 1 x WAN port and 2 x LAN ports all at 1Gb. I use this attached to a layer 2 switch as an access point to provide WiFi throughout my property as my Sonicwall does not have WiFi capability. It's easy to setup, not the most feature rich AP on the market, no syslog or SNMP capability however at the price point it's ok. Performance is good, no complaints from anyone even when on video conference calls with cameras on and screen sharing I have not detected any issues with it. Would not use this as a router connected directly to your internet connection as there is no firewall capability, as an access point for WiFi or for extending a current WiFi it's acceptable given it's low cost.
