Leg Avenuemens Top Gun Flight Suit Costume

Great costume - sizing info
I read a lot of reviews trying to figure out the right size to order, so hopefully this will help others. I'm 5'9", 180 (+/-) lbs, athletic build, typically wear M slim-fit shirts, 33x30 pants. The S/M was the right size for me. Sleeves were just a little shorter than I would have liked (maybe another 1/2"-1") and the legs were a bit long (2"), but with boots, it wasn't really that obvious. The overall fit was good. It was just a little tight when fully zipped and getting on/off - once you step in, getting the arms took a little twisting. The front has a double zipper so when zipped up with the top zipper, you can also zip up from the bottom when nature calls. The costume itself is great - good quality, many zipper pockets (2 chest pockets, 1 upper right thigh, 2 lower leg) and front/arm patches. As noted, there are both Maverick and Goose velcro patches. As others have noted, the bottom of the legs have zippers so I don't think there is a (easy) way to hem the legs if needed. There are also velcro bands on each wrist and both sides of the waist, to tighten as needed.Add a pair of sunglasses and dog tags (bought on Amazon) and you're all set!I also bought the M/L since I wasn't sure which size would fit. I didn't even bother trying it on, the legs would have been comically long.

Great looking Top Gun Flight Suit for a Reasonable price!
Fits great! I read a lot of reviews before deciding on the S/M for myself, definitely do the same if you are inbetween sizes or have proportions that you know may be problematic.I am 5'9" medium athletic build and my weight tends to fluctuate around 185 +/-5 lbs. I generally wear M/L in men's sizes, with M fitting on the tighter end, L being a bit looser. 15.5" neck 34" arm length. 34" waist, 30" inseam. 40-42R jacket and sports jersey size. This should give you a really good idea of measurements and adjust for yourself. The S/M is almost perfect for me, the length/height is just right, however, the shoulders felt a little bit tight (I've always had wider shoulders for my build). The waist and chest were perfect maybe a bit on the tight side but anyone lighter than 180lbs should feel very comfortable. Taller slimmer men might be OK in this suit as well, but taller than 5'11" you may be looking at a nuthugging/highwater situation. The M/L however would probably end up really baggy. Overally I'm extremely pleased with how the S/M fits me, I just need to do some crunches to get that gut into shape before Halloween! As for the suit itself, the quality and detail are outstanding. While the patch and insignias are not exactly true to the movie (the Top Gun patch isn't used, a US Navy patch is missing, and juxtaposed) it is close enough to look outstanding and convincing. The suit itself is actually pretty high quality and stylish compared to some of the other variants out there. Really pleased and I'm looking forward to Halloween!!!

Great fit. A bit long in the crotch.
Overall this outfit is great. The patches look good and the quality is very high. My only complaint is that the crotch is a bit low. If you lay it out, it looks like it was made for an Oompa-loompa. However, when wearing it, it looks good. It may just be the way these flight suits are designed.

Runs large
I'm 5'7" with an athletic build. I should be a 42" suit jacket but due to lifting weights, I'm a 44" suit jacket. So, I'm not exactly perfectly proportioned. I normally wear a 31" or 32" inseam in pants and a waist size of 32. I'm 170 lbs. After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase a Small/Medium. I purchased a medium from Amazon for a different Top Gun Flight Suit and it was way too big and looked ridiculous. The fabric is very solid and appears to be very good quality for just a costume. The fit is slightly tight on the upper portion/top of the costume but not uncomfortable at all. The overall fit is actually pretty good. I'm very happy with this costume. I hope that this review helps.

It's Fine for What It's For
I bought this for a Halloween outfit, so I am not expecting much out of it. It's obviously cheaply-made, super thin material, wrinkly (you'll have to give it a quick ironing) and various threads that are loose all over the jumpsuit, but for the price it's fine. I'm 5'11" and 215 pounds, on the muscular side, and once this is on it fits okay. It's definitely real tight right around the crotch, but after some adjusting it was okay. It's not super easy to move around it but I also think buying an XL would have been huge -- it fit fine in chest and the legs were long enough.Only 3 stars since it's just okay, but I also wouldn't say you *shouldn't* get it. It's an easy and fairly cheap Halloween costume and doesn't look too bad.

Be Maverick. Be Goose. Your choice!
Instantly recognizable as a flight costume from Top Gun (at least for those in the age group who know the movie), otherwise people assume it to just be a flight suit. Either way, it works. I added a pair of aviator sunglasses from the 99 cent store to complete the look, and now I have a costume I can wear for many years to come. This is well made and seems like it will last for a long time. I took care with the zipper, but it seems to be of decent quality. I am 5'8", 150 lbs and bought the small/medium. It fit perfectly. If I was a few inches taller or 15 lbs heavier, I would probably go up in size. I liked the removable Maverick and Goose name patches, easy to change on the fly. In any case, I was happy I spent the money on this quality costume. I always stress on Halloween about what to wear, and now I have a costume I can wear for a long time to come.
