OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover Powder, 3 lb

I used about a quarter scoop of this Oxiclean mixed with a small amount of Dreft detergent to freshen & clean some lace cut from an antique wedding gown. It took several hours of soaking & rinsing in water, but I was very pleased with the result. It brightened the lace & took away any yellowing or stains. I did pretreat any small stains by rubbing the diluted mixture very gently into the fabric before allowing it to soak. It did not break down the lace or dull down the beading, & I was thrilled that my daughter was able to wrap her wedding day bouquet of fresh flowers in lace that was over 50 years old from her grandmothers wedding gown! I’m posting this review for anyone wondering if it’s gentle enough for a project like this, like I wondered! Note that this would NOT be suitable on silk material, but for me, it was gentle enough on imported vintage lace. Always test on a small spot to be sure, of course, or do a little research first. I found someone on YouTube using these cleaners on an antique lace gown, so I felt confident giving it a try. So glad I did. The results were lovely.

I work in the dirt and mud all day. This really helps get my clothes clean the first time. No need to wash multiple times.

Excellent product. I had a beautiful hand painted blouse that was packed away that had yellow stains. It was in a chest for 30 years. Every yellow stain came out and no harm to the blouse. Great product!

Love love love oxiclean versatile. I use it when I need to soak my clothing or blankets (also known as stripping the fabric) and I have to say what an absolute game changer! I fill up my bucket or tote that I’m going to use half way with extremely hot water and then add the oxiclean in, it mixes into the water quicker that way, I then fill the tote up with cold water to cool the water down so that the color from my cloths don’t bleed. Friendly Tip: if you add the oxiclean powder to cold water you’ll be waiting forever for it to mix completely and if you add cloths before it’s mixed into the water it will get trapped in the clothing and then it’s a total waste and doesn’t work properly.I have to say that out of all laundry cleaning products that I’ve used this is hands down the best one. I have soaked clothing that I never thought in a million years I could save and almost gave up on, but to my surprise came out stain and odor free. My husband works on diesel trucks do his cloths get very dirty and oily, I use a large scoop of the oxiclean powder and the normal amount of detergent when washing his cloths and 100% absolutely makes a world of difference in how clean they come out and getting the smell out.I’ve tried using it as a cleaning products on my bathroom and kitchen and I personally didn’t think it had any effect on anything. Nothing came out brighter, or looked cleaner or smelt any better. I highly recommend for any laundry issues you might need help with and would recommend choosing something else for cleaning other parts of your house.

One of the best overall stain removers. When nothing else worked after washing but not drying with 3 other products that didn’t even lighten or remove any kind of stain. I had this Oxyclean and went back to the store. Standing in the store freaking out, I asked a stranger if they knew the best way to get rid of the most stubborn stains that I have ever had on a quilt my grandmother made me. She recommended something I hadn’t used in years. I took her advice and combined this with another stain remover for babies. It saved the quilt my grandmother made me. My girls had stashed it somewhere and when I found it, it was covered in grass, permanent marker and mold stains from being damp from them taking it outside and laying it on wet grass when they were playing at home with my husband who was left in charge.It’s my go to for everyday laundry as it covers most types of stains. It with the other product saving my quilt, I won’t forget

Works so well on my whites. I never use anything but OxyClean on my whites and they are all as brilliant as the day I bought them. I accidentally bought the Odor Blast (or something similarly named…purple label) once and it smells so strongly of perfume and it doesn’t wash out easily. Just stick with regular OxyClean if you don’t like perfume. Even regular OxyClean has a scent but it’s tolerable for how good a job it does.

Wow!!!! Brought this months ago but only remembered to use it for the 1st time last night doing laundry and this lives up to the hype. I have an LG front loader all-in-one unit (machine both washes and dries) so I put about 1/2 a scoop of oxi clean before putting in a load. The instructions on the container said for best results to soak laundry in the melted power, but I don't have a bucket big enough so I decided to use a function on the machine I had never before, which is the soak button. I have had that machine for well over a decade and it is fantastic, albeit, a bit more involved and time consuming, but I would recommend it to anyone. Anywho, after putting in the powder, the very soiled and stinky load of wash, pressing the soak, putting in the tide detergent and vinegar in the fabric softener compartment, I saw that the cycle time, without drying, would be a little over 2 1/2 hours. Yikes. Altogether, after drying, the load was close to 4 hours, but boy, it paid off. It smelled great. Those clothes would never had gotten so clean with just tide detergent. No way!This is no a permanent part of my laundry routine and it is a great bang for your buck!
