The Rocking-Horse Winner Paperback – 4 Nov. 2013

I had a desire to read a story I had remembered from my schooldays "The Rocking Horse Winner" by DH Lawrence. When I saw this Travelman classic @ £1.50 I thought it looked very good value.Imagine my surprise when it arrived, the format is not as a paperback in book form,but a fold out sheet like a road map with the two stories one on each side in quite small print,also the shipping cost at £2.75 seems excessive when such a light weight item could probably have been sent at 1st class letter rate.So if you think this is a book do not buy it is a fold out sheet,I think it could have been described more accurately and people would know exactly what format it is in.I have been buying from Amazon for about ten years and this is the first complaint I have had to make, and on such a small item I will not be returning it but it is still irritating.

Lawrence has little compassion or liking for his characters and they therefore become two dimensional.

A good story

Mid-life crisis compelled me to re-read all those things from school that i fought against. Glad i did - great classic. Maybe i just needed maturity to enjoy it!!
