good review of the quant section providing fundamentals needed to attack the questions encounterd on the GMAT, but its a bit outdated since there is no longer geometry on the GMAT.

Book arrived in good condition.About the book- after going through many online resources and GMAT official guide and not finding much help there, I decided to buy this book based on the recommendations Manhattan Prep books have generally received.Since I had not practiced maths for over 5 years, I needed to revise my concepts before I could tackle GMAT questions.The book helped me revise my basics along with helping me master strategies specific for GMAT exam. This book sets the tone which is then picked up in the Advanced Quant book by same publisher.

I had hoped to learn new tricks in this to get faster for the exam and up my marks but it made no difference at all to my score unfortunately. I have heard similar feedback since from other candidates from a maths background, it's learning how to make strategic guesses more than crunching numbers, the maths are easy, it's the time constraints are hard. Guessing isn't intuitive to me as I'm in the numbers game for a living so my score remained steady. Not bad, but the book didn't help me personally.
