Chunky grippy water resistant
Got these to replace my cheaper pair of Asics trail shoes. They are great quality, extremely chunky and grippy sole and seem very good at keeping the water out when running in wet grass or muddy ground. Fit as expected and look like they will last a lot longer than the cheaper 60 quid ones I had before. As others have mentioned, they are quite stiff around the ankle out of the box which feels a bit odd but they are starting to soften up now with use and they haven't been uncomfortable. All in happy with purchase.

top quality trainers!
well, my internet trainer shopping saga to buy some waterproof trail trainers lasted two months! all together i had 8 pairs of trainers from several different retail outlets, including reebok, eBay, Solomon and amazon! tried several pair of reeboks and none of them were wide enough to my feet! ive not not particularly wide feet but they must be wider than average because lots of makes that were said to be unisex, were way too narrow, after 4 pairs of reeboks i gave up on them! two pairs of adidas a pair Salewa, Solomon's that didn't turn up and then last but not least these Asics! two months down the line, when i tried these on they were brilliant, the gel soles built into the trainers were great for my plantar fasciitis and when i added an OR8 insole they were even better! i can wear them for 8 hours and my feet are fine which has opened my life up again :)the Gortex uppers are totally water proof, walked my dog through plenty of wet muddy fields and my feet are always dry and the trainers clean up really well! Asics will remain my brand for trainers from now on, the extra level they go to to make trainers good for you feet , legs and hips is to be commended!none of the other brands mentioned had gel cushioning built into the sole of the trainers, all of them relied fully on the insoles to provided any comfort and quite frankly they were not up to the standard that Asics reach! and what's better still is that Asics were one of the cheapest i tried!another big problem with the other retail outlets is the amount of time i was waiting for my money from returned trainers to get back into my account! with amazon its a couple of days, but with reebok and Solomon etc it takes weeks and that's no exaggeration! at one point when trying to buy reeboks from their site i was over £300 debited and on my 3rd pair that were still too small on the width, in total it took nearly 5 weeks before id got all my money back, as to speed thing up i was buying another pair whilst waiting for the refund from the first and second etc...to say footwear shopping on the net is a nightmare is an understatement but amazon with their next day delivery and prompt refunds are the saviours!

Solid pair of trail running shoes, update 2 Nov 2021
These were fabulous winter trainers , keeping feet dry and warm during rain, snow, mud. They are heavy and solid which I like. The uppers above the toe joint started to fray after 4 months, compromising the waterproofing.Worn through summer as getting feet wet wasn’t an issue. Finally thrown at end Oct.A very strong 4/5 and I would purchase againSize - I take 7.5 to 8 (uk) size and I ordered a size 9 - they fit me perfectly and are very comfortable.Grip - excellent.Water resistance - so far so good, the Goretex is doing a good jobDurability - Early days but seem quite heavy duty and lots of protective cladding.Delivery - they were delayed for a week but they eventually turned up. Sent from Germany but the delay was in the UK.Price - £90 was a great price

Perfect for a British winter
I’m an average runner and wanted a waterproof shoe to cope with British winter conditions (wet grass, slippery mud, rocks, etc.). Having tried a few other brands, these Asics fit the bill perfectly. The highlights for me are the grip (tread pattern and rubber compound) which are slightly on the stiff/plastic side of things, but work excellently off-road and the solid fit of the shoe: not foot slippages inside. The area around the ankle/heel is a little stiff/tight, but this is the only negative of these shoes so far.Definitely designed to do the job they were intended to do, unlike some other well known brands. Will buy another pair when these wear out.

Good quality cross country shoe
A good shoe, be aware that the sizes run a little small, normally I wear a European size 42, I bought size 42 1/2 and they fit fine. These shoes replace a pair of Fujitrabuco 7s that lasted for 400 miles.

Great Balance Between Breathable and Waterproof
I wanted to start running on the beach and on rough terrain near my house. I really like ASICS running shoes but have found that water travels right through to my feet immediately. I have also used waterproof boots, which are heavy and my feet begin to smell very quickly due to trapped sweat. This shoe strikes a remarkable balance between breathability and waterproofing. My feet remain dry even when running on the beach close to the water when it is raining. The breathability remains comparable to other ASICS shoes. You will end up with damp feet if you are exposed to deep water or for extended periods, but it is delayed and very reduced. A nice side effect of the material, is that they keep noticeably clean after running on a trail.I have found that for my neutral pronation the shoes are good for mid foot striking more common with longer distance. When sprinting on the tips of toes, the shoe balances inward. Perhaps not as good for sprinters.

Great shoes
Shoes exactly as expected (my second pair). Used on a mixture of hard packed gravel paths and grass - they're comfortable straight away and performing well.

Poor sizing
The trainers seem fine for the price. But: I have taken size 8 1/2 trainers for many years and run marathons etc. Strangely now seems that size is too small for me. Felt OK when tried them on, but after first walk in this product I have large heel blister and bruised toes. Regrettably probably too late to return as trainers muddy. Lesson learned: in future must order at least 2 sizes above my usual shoe size.
