This book is fabulously designed to circumvent writers block, and hunt down your inner poet.Preselected writings that contain classic,rich,vocabulary are presented with wonderful drawings,and one circles your chosen words or phrases and then ..you black out the rest. What's left is your poem,or a delightful introspection.I envision this as the perfect gift for young writers, or even a wonderful party game for a book club!( I'm thinking we could all choose a word,pass it on..)-anyway as you can see this book is as meditative as the coloring trend,yet more stimulating linguistically.I'm thoroughly enjoying my copy.

This was okay, although it looks like something I could put together with a copy machine. Some of the pages have spots that look like sharpie was used to cross out page numbers or something before it was copied. Still serves its main purpose though.

I bought this for my classroom and my students enjoy this book! Easy to follow and use

Best friend loved for his birthday

I found this book both inspirational and motivational. While I found it in the Poetry section, it is far more than a book of poetry. The Introduction includes details of the author's bouts with depression and how he was able to overcome these feelings using Black Out Poetry. How meaningful! I believe the book belongs in a Self-help section as well as Poetry. The author provides a remedy that helped him overcome his struggles and, I believe, could help others with similar difficulties.In addition, I found his description of Black Out Poetry to be something anyone might enjoy. He makes it seem easy. I might even give it a try.

My husband bought this for me as a gift on my birthday. I love poetry but sadly, I'm not much of a writer. I was very surprised to find out how EASY & FUN this type of poetry was! Even my 9 year old daughter had a blast doing a few pages! Would be fun to see & compare pages with other people who have bought this same book. It's so interesting to see what others find in a page. I have already recommended this book to my friends and would buy this again in a heartbeat!!
