Worry No More!
I've never had any trouble growing African Violets for 25 years. But as I began to grow some different varieties, I noticed that they had different watering needs, depending on the variety as well as the light conditions each one wanted to bloom well. I got tired of sticking a water meter in the soil and hoping I was watering them as they really needed. The pots may be plastic but they are nice to look at and do not detract from the beauty of the plant. But best of all I can see at a glance which pot needs me to add water, and they are thriving beyond measure! Be sure to pick up the pot holding the bottom, as when they are full of plant and water, the magnets will still let the bottom drop off. Use a long thin spout watering can and you will not have to remove the bottom to water. I love these!! And I am sure they would be good for any plant, especially those that might tend to get root rot from overwatering.

Attractive and easy
Attractive and easy. Great for African violets and the like. The water reservoir is a good size, though you really kind of have to take the top off to access it unless you have a skinny-spouted watering can.

Self-Watering Plant Pots
I am very pleased with this purchase. I have used this type of pot before but had never ordered from this company. I love the square design of the pots because for now, it fits perfectly on the windowsill. This may change as the plants grow but for now, it is a good fit. I like the ability to monitor the water level in these pots. I will purchase from this company again.

Good... but watch out for overwatering
I have four of these for my long-suffering African Violets. I killed one plant by routinely watering it, even though the pot was doing its job and keeping the soil slightly damp. I can't blame the beautiful pot for the death of that plant.Lesson learned: Poke your finger into the soil before watering African Violets. If the soil is NOT dry, wait another day or two.

I love these pots. I had four Africans violets and I struggled with keeping the soil moist enough. These have brought them back from the dead. Highly recommend!
