Such a great player. I’ve had a recent resurgence in adding to my collection and this fits perfectly in my second listening room. Certainly not inexpensive, but it works perfectly. I keep the top on when playing a cd…not terribly interested in watching the disc spin. So far it’s worked flawlessly and I would buy again

I love how this CD player sounds. I will have to upgrade my stereo system as this costs more than the other components combined. I am currently using it with a S.M.S.L. SA300. Even with this modest setup, the sound is vastly improved over playing FLACs ripped from the same CDs from my computer plugged into the SA300 via USB and using its DAC. This has a much better DAC.The build quality is top notch. The lid has a satisfying weight and makes a nice sound when placing it back on the player. The buttons have a nice click and the device is easy to use, though there are some features I will have to read about online to understand. The instruction manual isn’t much help. I am okay with the headphone jack being in the back because my headphones have an absurdly long cable. This player feels like it will serve me well for many years.The only downside is the high price. I think this player should be closer to $450. I also think I may have received a returned unit. While it didn’t have any significant or worrying signs of wear, my unit did not have any plastic tape (usually sticky plastic 1” circles) holding the box closed when I removed the box from the brown Amazon shipping box. As it was on arrival, anyone could have opened the box and messed with the components without detection, and as my shipment was delayed, I’m left to wonder. It also lacked the plastic covering the laser mentioned by another reviewer. Regardless, everything seems to be in working order and I wouldn’t bother returning this one over such a minor finding.Overall I recommend this player. I haven’t yet tried all my CDs to make sure it plays everything, but I believe the average consumer will be satisfied with this player over other offerings from major brands. This player has a unique charm and a beautiful sound.
