Omron Healthcare HJ-720ITC Purple Electronic Pedometer

I had the Omron Walking Style Pro Pedometer before I bought this one. It was perfect, but I lost it last week. There are hundreds of Pedometers out there, but I decided to buy this one as it is similar to my last one. This is the previous version of the Omron Walking Style Pro Pedometer & is virtually the same. The Omron Walking Style Pro uses kms & this one uses miles, which I prefer. It was a lot easier with the Omron Walking Style Pro to set my stride length, but I've tested the HJ720ITC & it is pretty accurate too. It will take a few days to adjust the settings until it is accurate. It is so similar to the Omron Walking Style Pro that I got it set up in a few mins. To test it I measured a route in Google maps then walked it & the HJ720ITC was only 0.1 of a mile out. But as I go on long walks these could add up. So I will be testing it thoroughly today. Very pleased, as I know it will last for years like my last one.The only niggle I have is the manual stated there should be a small screwdriver in the packet, but there wasn't one.

Bar being sent from the US. It arrived between the dates it said it would. Easy to set up and easy to get the software for the Health Management from Omron. Shame the weight only went to 300lbs since am over that. But easy to work out when I lose weight. Connects to the pc easy downloads simple. I have used this for nearly two weeks and I am happy with it.

This is a very good pedometer. Easy too use and set up with daily goals that you determine yourself for steps, calories and distance.I found it to be accurate. Having checked it several times the steps reading was only out by less than 10 over 300 to 400 steps. The unit is larger than any other I have seen therefore the display is clear and easy to read with a clock at the bottom. The display automatically zeros itself at midnight but all data is stored in the units memory. There is a memo function which recalls the data for the last 7 days for comparison. Data is stored for 42 days before it requires downloading. All data is in imperial units, I prefer the metric system but that is a not a criticism just a personal preferenceYou need to download the software from the Omron web site, then once set up it is easy to download data via the provided usb cable. The health management software stores all your data and can be viewed as daily, weekly, monthly or annual statistics and compares them with your daily targets.Overall a good pedometer the best one I have tried. I only gave it 4 stars because the instruction manual is very basic for example there is a 'mode' button on the pedometer but no explanation of what it is for. Also the belt clip is a little weak as it easily dislodged particularly when sitting down. I ended up putting it in my pocket and it works equally well.

This information that is collected and charted on the PC interface could use some upgrades. I would choose a more complete system to interface with the computer if I had it to do over again. Just passing marks for this unit.

I bought this to replace my much loved Omron Walking Style Pro 2, which I was very sad to lose on a walk - hole in my pocket! I was delighted to find this model, which does everything the old one used to, particularly the 42-day memory and the ability to download to a computer without having to rely on an online programme. It looks a bit smarter in the black than in the old grey. I won't use the belt clip, but the cord supplied works very well if attached to a belt, and it will still go in a pocket. I like the adjustability very much, and it counts steps well. No peodmeter can do that perfectly, but this one is as good as any that I've used.(The only niggle with its predecessor is worth mentioning here as it's to do with how the battery connects with the inner works - this model does it in the same way. In both models, the battery sits on sprung metal, which after a couple of years can get a little weary of its job, making you think that the battery needs replacing, or that there is a malfunction. I found that there was no problem, but that the springs had to be lifted slightly to make everything fine.)

Bought to replace an earlier model which had broken ~ this is an excellent item for anyone interested in recording their daily walking throughout the year.

I bought this pedometer because it comes with the Omron health Management software. However, I was unable to register the product in order to download the software because a) the registration form requested a serial number which the device does NOT have, and and b) the form required a US state to be entered. I live in the UK, and the system simply would not allow me to register the product. How stupid and insular can a company get?

It arrived and has been great so far. I don't use the electronic upload though. I thought I would but I think this is probaably unecessary
