Working out great for camping!
This has been an excellent option to take our dog camping in our (very) small travel trailer. He is a rambunctious 2-year old, 60 lb muscular breed, but is crate trained. We were skeptical this would be both sturdy and portable, but it has performed well on both counts. We have to assemble and disassemble in the trailer when used, go through some gyrations to get him in and us out, and store in our truck when not in use. Not fun, but doable. Seems like this would also be great for hotel rooms or visiting family. It does seem to help him feel more secure when we are not here. One improvement for us would be a side door, but that might compromise strength. Also can’t comment yet on durability—this is a 6 week trip and we are only 2 weeks in! Note that there is no pad, just the canvas floor and metal frame. We are using with the Tail Stories pad bought on Amazon, which is a perfect fit and also useful for when he is not using the crate, both camping and at home.

wait til your puppy isn't chewing anymore
Got the large version of this soft sided crate for my Great Pyr puppy to grow into, Unfortunately, she chewed up the zipper on the long side opening, and that makes it not really usable as a crate. It's now more like a canopy bed for a dog. If only I'd waited until she wasn't in the super chewy phase, it would have been great.

Sturdy, portable dog crate!
This crate is large, sturdy and folds down flat. It took about 2 minutes to assemble. I was extremely pleased and surprised with the quality as I was taking a chance before a long trip with a lot of other dogs. No complaints at all, highly recommend. I would suggest getting a memory foam mat for inside the crate though as there is no padding in the floor of the crate.

Love this, but easy for dog to rip
Easy to assemble and easy to use. My dog would jump right in. I have no issues with it, but if your dog is anxious in the car to begin with, my dog did chew a hole in the netting then used his snout to rip it bigger and get out during our last ride. I'll have to switch to a metal crate, but wish I didn't have to because this one is great.

Eight years later and fault use, still going strong.
I am posting this after eight years because I amGetting a new one to donate my current one to a shelter. Nothing is wrong with the crate and no issues with the zipper. My dog loves being in here and doesn’t make any attempts to escape, so that is the only issue I can see for other dogs who don’t want to be crated. I adopted my dog from the shelter eight years ago and he was terrified of wire crates. I tried for months to get him used to one and nothing worked. When this crate arrived, it was immediately his safe space. He loves his crate and chooses but will also happily go inside if asked. It has also made traveling with him a breeze. The only issue is he gets SO mad when I collapse it when I need to pack it in the car. I take the cover off to wash it a few times a year. I had bigger one at first (dog is 50lbs mix) but, I gave that away as he preferred this size. More cozy, but he still has lots of room. Just ask the cat who sneaks in.

Not Suitable for Strong Chewers!! My dog got free.
I want to start by saying that for a small dog or an older dog, this crate would probably be perfectly fine for short periods. I do want to highlight a positive which is that the poles inside are extremely sturdy and the setup is very easy. However; I did purchase this crate in particular because of the positive reviews regarding its durability and the size, since I have a German Shepherd/Husky mix (7 months old). The first time he used this crate, wonderful. The second use? See the attached photos. There were toys in the crate but he decided instead to chew his way to freedom; which he did successfully. Thank GOD the crate was in a room with a closed door and he did not ingest anything while he was roaming around free. But that could have been a very dangerous situation… there are wires, food, and other items he could’ve gotten ahold of after he freed himself by eating his way through the material. We were LUCKY. He was in there for 2 and 1/2 hours and who knows how little time it took him to get out. If we had used this to go camping, he would be gone by the time we woke up. Seriously do not consider this item if you know your dog is an aggressive chewer. Amazon support was very helpful with this but I don’t want anyone to end up in my position- not for high energy breeds with heavy chewing ability.

Nice travel carrier good price
Good quality, nice price, had all the features I was looking for. Opens on the top and the side and it’s vented on all sides. Has handles for carrying and a separate case to store it in. The velcro and zippers are pretty good, not super cheap looking. I really have no complaints 👍🏼
