I bought this pouch of heavy duty Mylar bags because I thought it would be compatible with my vacuum sealer. It is not. The title description does say “works great with Chamber Vacuum Sealer” but should say ONLY WORKS WITH. Oh well. As far as value goes, at $.25 a bag, that seems to be pretty good value for long-term storage bags of this size.

The bags look good in quality. However, I missed these bags are not compatible with common household vacuum sealers. They need a completely different kind of vacuum sealers which from what I have found so far are higher coast and they are rather big and bulky. This is my error ordering these for unclear or lack of knowledge about different kinds of bag for different kinds of vacuum sealers. There are just sealers (no vacuum function) at much lower cost and much smaller however but they are just sealers. Regardless, from the look and feel of the bags, these are good.

This product was recommended for the Avid Armor USV20 vacuum chamber food sealer. In fact, at the time of purchase, it was recommended as a bundle. It does not fit. I have to cut off the top 2 or 3 inches of the bag to get it to fit. That being stated, once cut, it does seal well. If using the USV20, the settings have to be 30 and 9. I don't know that I'd buy these bags again.

We live off grid and the store is quite a drive so we keep a well stocked pantry.ive found that the big bags of rice and flour taste bad after too long in storage so I got these to solve the problem of certain foods not holding up well. Mylar bags are the way to go for anything you intend to store for a few years. For me that is a lot of rice and beans. Highly recommend these bags. Must have a chamber vacuum to use, in case that’s not obvious. I use in my avid armor vacuum sealer but should work in any chamber vac. I bump up the sealing time to 7 on mine for these bags.

To be perfectly honest, I didn’t see the fine print that says that these vacuum bags *ONLY WORK* with Chamber Vacuum sealers. I currently do not own one of these types of sealers so I can only comment on the quality of the bags themselves but not how well they work for sealing.The bags themselves are of high quality thick metallic Mylar that feel very strong even around the three sides that are already sealed. One end of the bag has small tear indents on where to open once completely sealed.I would feel very confident in using these bags and how durable and protective they would be for keep food safe and fresh.

Totally don't know why I am reviewing honestly, because I bought in error. All I saw was "sealing pouches" and here we are. FYI this does NOT work with the standard food sealers. HOWEVER, I will make the best of it. It will still seal, just not taking the air out. Im sure I can come up with 101 uses. Love that they have the notch for quick opening, no scissors required. (maybe thats why I got them)
