Great Sous vide device
Iāve been using this to make steaks since I purchased it and itās been doing its job very well. The app works really well for me and you can see how long you have left in the cook. I purchased a regular container which is a few gallons to cook my steak in and I use zip lock bags as well. You just have to suck the air out of the bags. I highly recommend this.

Simple Cookware
This sous vide cooks correctly. I place it in my container, set the temperature, and add my food in when ready. Easy to use and select the temperature to the setting for the meat or vegetables. It is almost silent when in use.

Functionality and Observations
Received and tested new device today.Function lights on display are too dim.Took several attempts to begin "cooking" via the phone app. Hopefully, it's now a happy cooker. If not, it goes back or deep 6 it.Tested for 30 minutes @140 F.The low and very acceptable noise level appeared to be the same as my former Anova 3.0 / 1100 watt cooker.Unlike the Anova, the system will shut down after the prescribed time. It does ask for confirmation. I like that. The Anova would go to zero time remaing but kept running. In a good way, the alarm on the device is noticeably louder than the Anova. I failed to listen for an audible alarm in the app. With the detachable bracket it would not go into the generic, hard plastic lid opening on a 12 qt. sous vide tub. Just barely though. If I keep it, I will remove a small amount of material from the lid. It was hitting the bracket. Had the lid been silicon, it would have been just fine. Without the bracket the cooker was very stable.Using a high quality digital thermometer, I picked 4 random spots in the water. All spots ranged from 139 - 140. Good enough for me. Water circulation was noticeably stronger than my 1100 watt Anova. I liked that. We'll see how it goes. For half the cost of my particular Anova, I hope it lasts a few years.I gave it 1 star due to the way this rating system is designed (poor). If the device does well (or not) after a few baths, I will return for an edit and more stars. Until then,Peace Out! šEDIT: Full 1st use review: Cooked a small rack of pork ribs. Halved and placed each in 12" vacuum bags.I get a good light-medium when cooked for 18/19 hours @ 154 F.Using my larger tub, its hard plastic lid has a flexible silicone skirt on the opening for the cooker. The cooker fit well. All went well. I got the same results as I have from my Anova. This device is noticeably quiter than the Anova. The Anova was more than quiet enough. This is even better. The display automatically toggles each second or 2 between time and temp. Good enough for me.The app is less than robust; but not terrible. When monitoring it on my phone, it shows a timer countdown, current temp, and what time the session will end.My favorite feature is the device will shut-off when the timer strikes 0.I struggled saving a personal recipe but finally managed to do it. I think in part it was me trying (abide) by the product's template. I feel confident this will improve with timeWith the app active and visible on the phone screen, all is well. If I close the app or open another app or let the screen timeout, the app is no longer currently active upon reinitating. But I found a simple 2 tap process to make it active and current again. Not a show-stopper but could be remedied by manufaturer with a simple code addition. All in all, I like it and due to its very competitive cost, I will recommend it based on my single, several hour sous vide session. If the app was really simple I would give 5 stars.Hope it gives me a few years with, at most, once a week use.EDIT #2: I submitted a question regarding the string of vertical lights on the upper body. They are not mentioned in my manual and I could find no reference online. I did find a description of them in a manual for another model (G300):Countdown display light barIn standby mode, the 10 LED lights are all lit. After 1 minute in standbymode,if there is no operation or setting, all LED lights will go out; inoperating mode, before the water reaches the set temperature, the LEDlights in the light bar will display the cooking progress in succession; whenthe water reaches the set temperature, the uppermost light in the light barwill be lit. Every time 10% of the set cooking time is passed, the previousLED light will go out and the next LED light will continuously flash. When theset cooking time is reached, the machine will automatically stop andenter standby mode; in alarm mode, all 10 LED lights will flashsimultaneously.I have now discovered the model I purchased in Amazon is the G300PT. Looking at the cover of my manual, it indicates my model is the G300PX / G310PX. My box indicates on G300PX. No issues with all of this other than I prefer to have companies to have their acts together without the buyer having to jump through hoops; basically doing the job of the vendor.

It's ok
Hate the fact that you have to sign up and sign in to use the app for this product. Not as simple to use in the beginning but once you figure out how to set the temp and time, it works fine.
