Excellent thermostat
This thermostat is nice looking, easy to install and set and works perfectly. If you want a easy to use thermostat instead of those hard to figure out programmable thermostats, then I highly recommend this one.

Thermostat it works
This is a nice piece of equipment, comes with all you need to instal and mount it. the display is blue and the numbers are bigger. this is great for my mom who is older. Simple one button control for the temp. Install is not bad as long as the wires match.

Big display, simple on/off and temperature contorl thermostat
I live in a moderate climate and don't use complex timers and setting for heating. This is a simple, no fuss thermostat that just controls the temperature and on/off of the furnace. Large display of temperature is also a big plus.

Easy to install and set up. Large bright display. Simple, excellent and cost effective.
I've grown tired of dealing with expensive, wi-fi enabled, programmable thermostats. Frankly I don't require or use all the functionality. In addition, I have a gas boiler with no C-Wire and separate central air conditioning system. Choices of programmable, Wi-Fi enabled solutions is limited and the worst part is that they seem to fail and need replacement too often. I was totally ready for a simple solution.Fortuantely I had the opportunity to evaluate the Emerson Series 70 Non-Progarammable thermostat. The result is that I am thrilled! It is extremely simple to install with the supplied hardware. The instructions are clear and the wire locations are clearly marked so all you need is a small Phillips Screwdriver to insert and tighten them. Just make certain you turn off power to your HVAC system before you start. Once the wires are in place all you need to do is insert the batteries and attach the faceplate to the backplate and you're ready to power on the system and start setting up your desired heat and cool temperatures and any other parameters you wantto change. The process is also clearly described in the instructions and is intuitive. That's all there is to it!The temperature/battery diaplay is bright and easily read. The two levers on the left side of the thermostat clearly indicate operating mode.So far the thermostat is working well. While it may not last as long as a mercury bulb thermostat (assuming you're old enough to remember them) it is just as simple to use and is working well.

Very simple thermostat, limited instructions
This is a simple digital thermostat that will replace any mechanical thermostat. It is not programmable, so you cannot set it to change temperature settings at specific time of day, for instance. It's purely manual - set the temperature you want, select heating or cooling, that's about it.It does have a nice display that is very dimly backlit - usable in a dark room, but in daylight, it's tough to tell that there is any backlight at all. The current temperature is displayed in large digits. It includes two AA batteries, required for it to operate. If your furnace supplies voltage, then this unit will operate without batteries installed. A nice touch is the built-in bubble level on the backplate, to ensure the device is installed perfectly level. The manual is NOT written for the DIY'er. The language it uses refers to HVAC terms that the average homeowner will not understand, so it is highly recommended that a professional install this device. The manual also does not mention how to remove the backplate from the unit, and it is not obvious - I ended up just prying it away, given no other options.Who is this for?- People who want to replace a simple mechanical thermostatPros:- Easy to use- Reasonably attractiveCons:- User unfriendly manual

An excellent non programable thermostat!
If you like a basic thermostat, without the extra headaches of programing, this is an excellent choice! It is extremely easy to install and works well!It works with or without power, just the batteries are sufficient, but line voltage is preferable as you have the option to leave the display on at all times. In only battery mode it goes off after a while to conserve energy!.This is a thermostat best suited for people who spend most of their time at home. It is also great for people who want simplicity. The thermostat sensor works very well.A very good thermostat, at a very good price!

Simple thermostat. Easy to install. Great replacement.
I had to relocate an old thermostat to cut in a doorway. Perfect time to replace old equipment, so I decided to replace the 20 year old Aprilaire thermostat with this one. It was a very easy process - just remove old one and wire this one in. The mounting plate has a built-in bubble level, so I only needed a drill and a screwdriver. If I was just replacing the old one with this one, I wouldn't even have needed the drill as the holes matched the old plate. There's nothing to program on this thermostat - no date, no time, no nothing. It controls the heat and air and that's it. That's all I wanted. End result was a clean look of 'new' and I was happy to throw the old dingy one away. If you're looking for just a basic thermostat, this one would be a good choice.

Went through three sets of batteries in less than a week. If not for that, it'd be decent.
Everything worked... For about two days. Might need to have it hardwired as it was chewing through batteries. I put in 3 different sets of fresh batteries only to find the thermostat depleted them all each time and the battery indicator would start flashing.Assuming that it's an installation error by me, I can review the thermostat itself and you can determine whether or not you'd like it! The thermostat itself looks nice: numbers are big and bold, switches are easy to operate. Not programmable, steer to another one if that's a deal breaker.
