SABRENT 5-Bay USB-C Docking Station for 2.5” SATA HDDs and SSDs with Built-in Cooling Fan (DS-5R15)

Replaced 3 different single hdd cases with this one and added 2 more spare drives to it. Works great, and fast. Read and write from multiple disks at the same time. Copy/write speed from one disk to another seemed ok. Case is larger and a little heavier than I anticipated, but not a problem. Simple setup, worked out of the box with my Mac with no additional configuration or drivers.

This lasted for 3 weeks then completely failed. Cheap garbage, and best to avoid this product. I had high hopes at first, and I could access all the SSD disks in it when it ran for a few weeks. Now it will not power on at all.Save your money and look elsewhere or get ripped off as I did with cheaply made crap.

Overall, I am satisfied with its performance, but I decided to award it four stars for one reason.On the positive side, you can definitely appreciate the fast file transfer speeds and the convenience this device offers. The ability to connect up to five drives simultaneously is a significant advantage, and the USB-C connection ensures speedy data transfers.Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks is the noise level of the built-in fan. It is quite audible and can be bothersome, especially if you are working in a quiet environment. Fortunately, there is an option to turn it off, but in my opinion, future models should consider using a higher-quality fan or a more advanced cooling system.In summary, the Sabrent 5-Bay USB-C Docking Station fulfills its role and provides quick access to multiple hard drives at once. The fan noise is the only drawback that influenced my rating. I hope that in future iterations of this product, this aspect will be improved.

I have a bunch of 2.5" SSDs from old PC builds that I wanted to use for extra storage on my home server, which doesn't have space for more internal disks. This dock does the trick perfectly, and the USB interface is fast enough that I can use software RAID without any issues.My dock has been running nearly continuously for about 6 months with no problems, although I should emphasize that I'm not pushing it very hard, so it would be really bad if it was already degrading. I'll update this review if it stops working.

I'm using this to add all of the SSDs from my old, dead computer to my new Thunderbolt laptop. It's flawless.

I have two of these (purchased from Amazon) The first one I've had for several months and it works perfectly. I couldn't be happier. I would give it 5 stars. So I bought a second. I won't be buying a third.I've purchased several programs that claim to restore broken SSDs, but so far, no luck.
