Extremely good planter, let down by incorrect information on Amazon description.
There is no doubt in our minds that this garden planter is of a very good quality and will serve its intended purpose (as a means of growing vegetables in a contained area) for a long time to come. As to the manufacturer's claims that it is "easy to assemble" the jury is still out on this at present, as although we can see that the 4 section ends should slot into each other, we've found it disappointing that there are no pre-drilled holes to be used as a guide for placing the screws to secure the 4 sections together.Nevertheless, our salient 'gripe' here begins with the incorrect information given on the Amazon website, that the planter does not come with a base, it being unnecessary, as it can just be placed on the ground and filled with soil. This in fact was the most prominent reason that we chose to purchase this planter. However, when we took delivery of the planter a few days ago, we did not understand at all why the consignment was so large and so heavy. The whole thing being wrapped, and secured to two large pallets, which themselves had been screwed and nailed together to form an "L" shape. And despite our property having a convenient side entrance into our rear garden, the pallet construction was so big that we had to begin unpacking and removing the sections of the planter in the front garden! It was at this point when we realised that a base section for the planter had in fact been included, it being listed on the instructions as "an optional extra." This despite there being no facility (as far as we could tell) when placing our order, to indicate whether we wanted a base section - or not!In conclusion, the manner in which this planter was transported, in addition to supplying the unwanted base section has added a rather large amount of trouble and inconvenience to our new venture into vegetable growing. My husband still has the problem of dismantling the transportation pallets and disposing of them, as we don't possess a log burner! It is therefore with much regret, that these unexpected issues have rather spoiled the pleasure and enjoyment of a new venture into vegetable growing.
