Short version: My wife and I have had this mattress for over a year now and can say with confidence that it was an excellent purchase- it is still firm and has no sags or dips. I highly recommend it.I have held off on writing a review for this mattress because I felt it was necessary to sleep on it for an extended period of time to give it the most fair and accurate review. My wife and I purchased this mattress over a year ago, in November 2017.After going to all the local stores, from big box to mom and pop, my wife and I found ourselves with a problem: we could tell which mattresses were soft and which were firm, but aside from that we didn't really feel much difference apart from the price tag- almost all of which exceeded a thousand dollars, with some approaching two grand. That's quite an outlay of cash.So, going off reviews on Amazon we took the leap on this Zinus Extra Firm iCoil 12 inch king mattress. We also purchased a steel foundation upon which to set the mattress in our bed frame. The box arrived a little beat up, but my wife and I muscled it into the house and carried it upstairs together. It's a two person job, but not impossible. We set the rolled up mattress on our guest bed and carefully cut away the plastic so the bed would unroll. (Pro tip: Don't stand between the mattress and the wall. You might get pinched) We followed the directions and let the mattress sit undisturbed for 2 or 3 days so it could fully expand. After which time, we moved it into our bedroom.It's now more than one year on and I feel qualified to report on the mattress. It is firm, but not rock hard. This is obviously subjective, so all I can say is that you know a firm mattress when you lay on one, and this is a firm mattress but is still comfortable. I'm a side and stomach sleeper, and my wife is a back sleeper. I'm 5'11", 230lbs, and we'll just say that my wife is plus sized and leave it at that. The mattress supports both of us fine, and a year later has no depressions, dips, sags or problem areas. The last time I did laundry I snapped some photos of the mattress which I have posted above. You'll notice the mattress is still even and flat, even after a year of nightly use.I purchased this mattress myself, with my own money, have no relationship with the manufacturer, and am receiving nothing in return for writing this review. I just know how difficult it is take the leap of purchasing something like this over the internet, so I thought I'd write a review to help people in a similar situation my wife and I found ourselves in last year.This mattress was an excellent purchase, I've recommended it to friends, and if you're in the market for a fairly priced firm mattress, I can recommend it to you as well. Buying a mattress online is HARD!! Fortunately a friend bought these mattresses for her rental home and was extremely happy wtih them, so I thought they should be good enough for my guest room. We had a chance to try them out a couple days after receiving them - our guests slept so well, they overslept twice! We bought 2 twins which could be pushed together to form a king. We purchased a mattress bridge to fill any gap between, and it worked perfectly. The intent is to separate into 2 twins for when our grandsons visit, and join to form a king when couples are visiting. So far, they are firm and comfortable. Contrary to some of the reviews, there was no odor and the mattresses fully inflated to the promised 10”. It is incredibly difficult to take a chance ordering a mattress online - hard enough in person! But this gets a 5 because so far, I’m not only relieved, but very satisfied with the quality of the mattress. Of course I’ll be back here if durability become an issue!

I bought this mattress 3 years ago and it's still great. My husband and I have different mattress needs. We first bought a mattress from the fancy mattress store but soon found out that it wasn't for us. Rather than try finding a mattress that we both liked, we bought 2 twin mattress, one to fit each of our needs, and put them together on a king platform. I bought this one, because I read that it was firm, while my husband ordered a fancy mattress from a furniture store that was medium and plush. Fast forward to now and my side is firm and not sagging while my husband's side, the expensive mattress, is sagging and ready to be replaced - also my husband works away from home 3 nights a week so his mattress is really disappointing. My mattress has surpassed my expectations. Neither my husband nor I are feather weights, so to see this mattress hold up under +200 lbs. night after night and keep it's shape compared to a name brand mattress if fantastic. The value is amazing. I find this mattress to be firm without feeling like a concrete slab. It has enough give to cradle the body while offering support. I used it the same night I opened it, although the direction said to allow it to spring back. Overall, it's a great mattress that is comfy, performs well, and at a great price point. I definitely recommend.

We finally pulled the plug on our waterbed. We'd gotten used to sleeping on it, and it was comfortable, but really heavy. We had purchased a 12" mattress for our summer cabin, but I found it a bit difficult to sit on the edge of the bed, so I opted for the 10" one for home. The delivery came faster than expected which was great. We were also more experienced at unpackaging the mattress, which can explode out of the wrapping if you're not careful. You need to watch where you're standing when the mattress comes loose.We opted to put the new mattress onto an older box spring and frame, although you can also put this mattress onto a platform. We still had the other underpinnings from the waterbed, and our headboard can be attached to that frame, so we went with that set-up.The bed is actually still a little high, but manageable. The dog absolutely loves this mattress. I thought she'd miss the waterbed, but she's been staying in bed until past noon some days. I am sleeping well on it, and it's also easier to sit up and read at night. My husband thinks it might be too firm.We unrolled the mattress in the morning, and I slept on it that night, with no trouble. I'd have preferred to give it another day to inflate, but I don't think it really matters in the end. It will continue to inflate, whether or not there are sheets on it.This is a good value regularly, and Black Friday made it even sweeter. I bought a couple of nice pillows (also inflatable) with the savings.
