I was looking for a sound meter for setting up my surround sound system. dB-C weighting was important, as this covers the whole audible sound spectrum, allowing my subwoofer to be measured (dB-A weighting, rolls off in the upper bass).This unit has dB-A and dB-C weighting, so the best of both worlds. Fast and slow "polling" is also selectable. Slow averages the reading over a 1 second period, which helps reduce the reading from bouncing around.The unit can be connected to a computer to collect the readings (and monitor the readings) but I haven't tried this. This would be good for setting up a sweep tone and plotting the sound levels across the sweep. I may try this later.Display is large and clear and buttons are positive. Backlight works well but the display is adequate without it in normal light.For my purpose, setting up speakers to output the same level at the listening position, this is more than adequate. The tripod screw socket is also a nice touch. It also comes with a zip-up cloth case.

Early days, but appears to be just what we want to record sound levels from functions in our club

Noisy neighbor this is the tool to make sound recording and submit it to the relevant Council Dept.Other noise recording equipment costs a lot more. £4000+!. So a device which is a lot less in price, is the way to go.

Bought this for the record/datalogging functionality however I'm sending it back after about 10 minutes of use.The datalogging function is pretty much useless unfortunately. In order to record, the record parameters must be configured before each recording. This means you need to connect it to the software and reconfigure the recording if you need to do more than one recording.Another issue is the minimum interval between data points is 1s. Software will not let you go less than 1s.This does not work with windows 11 due to driver issues, it does not find the sound meter. On windows 10 it works fine.The screen itself only refreshes every 0.5s on fast mode so it is realistically no use for short bursts of sound even if the supposed sample rate is 125ms.I have no way of verifying how accurate the sound meter is.

I bought this for a specific project and have used it about 6 times since I received it. The first few times it was working but now it reports seemingly random readings (such as around 90dB in a quiet domestic room) and shows no signs of working properly. My advice is buy something else - I wish I had.

A nice and easy to use tool at a reasonable price. It is easy to start using it and the manual is clear.Have already recorded two samples after 10 minutes of use and have saved the recording results on my computer.

For professionals and amateurs, this is a much-needed tool. My only regret as a sufferer of tinnitus is I didn't invest in one of these 10 years ago. If you're hovering over the buy now button with any doubts, take it from me that you need this to ensure a safe and enjoyable listening environment.

Just what we needed for our music venue to begin with, but stopped working correctly after a couple of months.

I ordered this to prove to the landlord of my office that the new gym next door was blasting bass-heavy music through the walls. After months of being blown off because of inaccurate readings from a cheaper meter that showed only A weighted volumes in the 70 dB range, this meter was able to show that the unweighted volume of the music coming through the wall was regularly 90+ dB. Very easy to use and works well.

El equipo cumple por el precio, con mediciones paralelas aparentemente los niveles son correctos, claro que es nuevo ahora, habra que ver al paso de los meses si mantiene el ajuste, funciona el teclado sin problemas, pues en algunas reseñas ese era su principal problema, el software lo uso en una MacBook Pro 2018 con OSX Big Sur, Parallels y Windows 10, lo detecta sin inconvenientes, puedo bajar las mediciones gravadas internamente y configurarlo via software, lo cual es muy practico para evaluaciones hacia el cliente de manera grafica. El único pero hasta ahora es el material del chasis no se siente muy fuerte, no es para uso rudo en campo de construcción, pero para mi caso que es acústica de interiores y cabinas de TV y Radio, operandolo sin golpearlo creo funcionara bien.
