This tool is definitely needed to perform a tow in/out steering alignment without this tool steering wheel and tire alignment will not align up correctly. You'll also need a small 3-4 inch bubble level to level steering wheel (pending steering size & shape) so that steering wheel will line up straightAlignment came out perfect however you have to have some mechanical experience to perform a wheel alignment. If your changing a steering shaft on your Lincoln it's not that hard, but problems can be created if the steering wheel moves during this change. Tool was easy to use and I felt it was worth eliminating any problems.

Works well and holds the steering wheel well. Doesn’t leave marks. I just wish it was spring loaded at the bottom to make adjusting easier.

I have been using Ropes and 1x2 to tie of the Steering Wheel to keep straight. I made my own Alignment tools and bought Digital levels here, but in order to get the Toe set correctly you have to keep wheel from moving while you adjust to Tie rods . My next purchase to make this easier and more precise will be Turn tables at this time I’m using 4 14” pizza pan’s they work great but they don’t have the Degree Markings to know how far to turn right left sweep for a Caster measurement.If you have 2 cars or more the dealer charges $120.00 dollars so spending $300 dollars or more pays for itself.

Once I got the hang of this one it's not too bad. I chose it due to price as it's half the price of the spring style. It definitely will hold the wheel during alignment, which is what I need it for.

Fits perfect and seems good enough quality to me. I align my own track cars at the track with hub stands and strings.
