I installed the tailgate light bar on my 2023 Toyota Tacoma. The installation was simple, and easy. The wiring was plug and play, what more can you ask. The 3M tape felt solid as it was placed on, just make sure you clean up the area well from dirt and oils. This rear tailgate light bar is replacing my diode dynamics c1r hitch light. The hitch light I was using had a strobing effect but I chose this product over my previous set up due to the sequential turn signals. The light bar has the reverse and brake light which work great and is pretty bright. Making the truck alot more visible when driving during the day and especially when your lights are turned on at night or early mornings. I like the look of the placement of the light bar. I would recommend this as a good option to upgrade the rear lighting for your truck.

I just installed this. Seems to be a great product and works as described. It comes with attachment clips but I went with the adhesive backing, we’ll see how it lasts. I cleaned the area with alcohol real well. I also bought the OPT7 7/7/4 pin wiring harness with backup wire, it really made installation simple. The only negatives, so far, are the harness’s 4 pin connector had a damaged male ground plug and the body of the truck has raised metal that keeps the light bars from sitting perfectly flat. I’m pleased but I can’t help but imagine going up the highway with them flailing in the wind behind me. Hope not! Update: after having this installed for over a month, it’s still very secure. The lights are great, especially the backup white light, very bright.

Love the quality! Super bright and easy to install. Highly recommend buying the 7pin- 4 pin adapter for plug and play. made for a clean install and easier to hide the wires. plus it illiminates the need to splice the back up light wire to the tail light. I secured it with the 3M tape that comes on it and it’s holding super well, just make sure you properly prep the surface to insure secure adhesion. I’m very happy with this product.

Bought this for my '23 Tacoma which requires the 2 part light bar. Overall 1st impression is it's very well made. Hookup was easy using the optional Opt7 wiring harness and Opt7 magnets. Brightness is good without being obnoxious. My only complaint is a slight delay between factory brake and turn signals lighting up and the light bar but that's a minor issue. Time will tell on durability

These strips are well made but do not fit as advertised. The adhesion is affected in the corners by an overlapping welded joint. They are truly plug and play but not vehicle specific. I was led to believe they were vehicle specific by the install videos and literature. They are a universal size. Would not buy again.

Opt7 tailgate Lighting Kit. Used for the 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5. It is Essentially, the best looking LED Light set up I have seen. I have used their kit before on a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and was very pleased with it.The kit itself with the OPT7 7 Pin to 4 Pin Trailer Adapter is the way to go for a clean looking simple installation.However, it can be better. The blue ScotchLok crimp wiring connector they included is really too small to use on the 14 gauge wiring that is incorporated into the 7 pin to 4 pin trailer Adapter. The reverse wire from the LED strip is 22 gauge. They expect you to use the blue ScotchLok to attach the 22 AWG wire to the 14 AWG wire in the 7 pin to 4 pin Trailer Adapter. It is supposedly sized for 14AWG wire but it is really not good to use It cuts the strands of the 14 AWG wire and almost severs it in two. OPT7 could have easily added a small length of 20 or 22 AWG wire wire to the adapter wiring harness with a barrel splice on it to connect the 22 AWG wire. Why they expect someone to use the Scotch Lok is beyond me.Also, the Toyota Tacoma I installed the kit on has an oval hole in the middle of the flashing under the tailgate. That hole is for the spare tire jack access. They do not mention to not cover that hole in their installation video. Be careful not to cover that hole with the LED strip. That could be a problem down the road.

item was as described. i added to a 2023 tacoma. I read a couple of reviews before ordering about opt7 plate being on wrong side, etc.. Test before you mount.. This system allows access to spare tire hole. a couple of notes.... you don't need the 4 pin extension kit ... what you need is the 7 pin to 7 pin to 4 pin quick connects .... all of this is done on back side and keeps your 4 pin/7 pin connections on front free for connections and hides wires very good. on my truck, the reverse light wire was "red" to connect to with their white wire (take out left rear tail light) it would have been nice if they supplied some spli tubing for the white wire ... I had some available .... adhesive was good, etc.. everything worked great first time ....I had to order the 7 pin adapter after the fact to make the wiring look good, etc.
