I was skeptical based on the reviews but after having it on my hand, checking it on a mic stand and even using gauge blocks to check it's accuracy at varying lengths. It's impressed me beyond all standard. It's consistent and feels good in the hand. Some calipers are often light or feel cheap but this thing has some heft to it and definitely feels solid just holding it and when using it. It's a shame it doesn't have carbide tips but I won't mark against it for not having them.

The hard plastic box it comes in, is a bonus. For the cost of this, appreciate the protection it offers. I compared to my $40 Empire brand, from Home Depot, and reads just as well…… with additional 10,000th place. As of now, I would recommend.

As usual Starrett makes a precision piece of equipment. Auto on and off. Always knows it's position so no resetting the zero each time. Just grab it and go. Turns on as soon as you slide it. As accurate as calipers really can be. Good value. This was the best price I found. Also Ip 65 so they are water and some chemical resistant.

This is one of three items I bought recently that I have no issues with and nothing bad to report. So far they seem pretty good and I must admit one of my better purchases of this companies products of recent times.

GREAT quality calipers. I use these everyday at work and i cannot complain. Nice smooth movement in the opening/closing motion of the jaws with no play/slack at all in either direction. Easy to switch between units and easy to read both digital readout and slide. Best of all its made in the USA (at least from what i can gather as this is what the inspection certificate says).

I just got this today- feels and looks pretty good- will have to use it to find out, but very disappointed with the misleading: Country of origin: USA… it’s not, it’s made in China- Consumer beware!

Had for 3 months with massive use no battery change. Works greats with trusted readings every-time.

AL MOMENTO VA TUTTO BENE, PRECISO E COSTANTE ANCHE SE NON SCORRE CON REGOLARE CONTINUITA' DI UNO STRUMENTO PROFESSIONALE, MA SOPRATTUTTO MANCA LA SCRITTA MADE IN USA E QUESTO MI PREOCCUOPA.

I bought this as well as a tesa(brown and sharpe) and mitutoyo, I don't have all the model numbers in front of me. This was the most expensive out of the 3 and my least favorite. It works fine just compared to the others I wouldn't go with this one again.
