At first I wasn't sure about this printer. It was about half the size of my old Canon printer and it seemed to be not as sturdy. I wasn't sure about the front panel that you have to open to print. It just seemed to be an accident waiting to happen. Set up went without a problem. However, after just over 6 months I am sold. I love the fact that I can have regular paper in the cartridge in the front of the printer and can also load card stock in the back feeder. It does a great job duplexing. The color photos are fantastic. A while back the back feeder suddenly wouldn't recognize or feed the paper and using the built-in trouble shooting I was able to resolve the problem. I really like this printer and highly recommend it.

After reading reviews I thought this would be a quick fix after my other printer broke. And that’s all it is I found this set up to be super easy and everything is working however there is one thing that really bothers me: it is necessary to manually pull out the paper extender or prints fall on the floor. I need a wireless printer so that I don’t have to be there to do this sort of thing. I’ve never owned a printer that didn’t automatically catch the paper. This is enough for me to have to look for another printer. Bug.

Had to knock off a star for the less than simple wireless set up,The Pixma is a fine printer for a low cost but the wireless setup "wizard" process didn't work on a secure wireless network. The set-up process was easy to start but since I have my wireless require an access code, the process hung. I had to power cycle the printer at a screen that said "don't power cycle". Then I could manually get into the settings and enter the access key.Once set, I was able to rerun the wizard easily.

I had an HP but one day it just stopped working and after research, I discovered that HP sets a self-destruct time limit on their products so we have to go buy a new one. This totally happened to me so I read reviews and decided to buy this Canon. It was super NON-user friendly to install. I am not going to return it because I just donʻt want to have to go through the whole process again. I am tech savvy but using this is a constant annoyance. Just to print, you have to go through a process of hitting many different screens which are not user-friendly at all!! I canʻt tell you how sorry I am for buying this. The tray for paper doesnʻt even have an extension in order to catch the paper when it prints so you have paper all over the floor if you donʻt sit there and catch each piece as it is printed. That said, regardless of the product, the company I bought this from, Hot Deals Electronics Inc., is extremely wonderful to work with and very understanding and have stepped up to help me solve my problem!!! I am now a happy customer!!!

I got this printer to print addresses on A7 envelopes for my wedding. It's the second printer I tried, and I was very pleased with the printing jobs. Only downside is that it was very difficult to set up and confusing to use. I got it in the end, but people less computer-savvy might have more trouble.

Did not know that this printer prints a 2-sided document on its own!This is a nice perk! Rated it 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to use all the functions.Joe, at Hot Deals, has great customer follow-up, too.

I only installed the printer yesterday, but the installation and set-up was straightforward and it seems to be working as advertised. I set it up as a wired USB connection, but later also added the wireless network connection so my wife can use it from her laptop. One nice thing about this printer is that it takes up a LOT less desk space than my old one (Canon Pixma MX870). How well, and how fast, it prints remains to be seen.

Seems like a nice little printer so far. Ran a few test pages and it worked as advertised. Setup was a hassle but it’s working well.
