I bought this file cabinet because I recently bought my first home, and wanted a quality cabinet for my home office. When it arrived, I was surprised to discover that the box not only had the typical hard foam inserts, but the entire cabinet was completely surrounded by rigid metal bars, ensuring extra protection during shipping.The only issue I had was after unlocking and turning upside down to install the casters, the locking mechanism had, unbeknownst to me, slipped position, making it impossible to open the drawers. Flipping it back right-side up, the key no longer turned fully. Couldn't find a solution online, so I sent an email to customer support.I got a great response, suggesting a solution, and including the photo I posted here. Amazingly hitting the top of the cabinet directly above the lock freed it up, and I was able to unlock it.Other than wishing Songmics had just provided this directly on their site, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's well built, glides smoothly, and even the top drawer "pen" insert is designed to lock in place.I also like the fifth caster, which attaches to the bottom front center of the bottom drawer, to prevent tip-overs. I expect to have this cabinet for many years. I absolutely recommend this for anyone wanting a solidly built file cabinet.

We purchased two of these for our home office to use with our standing desks. I wanted a surface I can use to work on during tax season when things get a little chaotic. This rolling file cabinet is large and can easily hold two stacks of papers side by side on its top. The drawers are deep and very smooth to operate. It rolls on the floor smoothly as well with locking wheels when needed. I like the flat fronts on the cabinets. Now I won't need to worry about matching hardware to it when we get other furniture in the future. The boxes were delivered by box truck. They are quite heavy. Packaging was amazing - steel frames and styrofoam protecting the cabinets in the boxes. The boxes could not be crushed. Very impressive. Took me an hour or more to put the casters on, but that's only because I had to redo a couple things. If you do it correctly the first time, it should go pretty quick. Live and learn. We paid a little more than we planned for these, but I think it was worth it. These cabinets will last us forever.

Nice file cabinet; well packed and arrived without damage. Small amount of assembly and easy to accomplish - but follow the directions/pictures. Built for A4 size hanging files, but comes with two slats to hold letter size hanging files. One is short, to run side to side in large bottom drawer. Files would hang perpendicular to the front of the drawer, and leaves a large open space in back. Alternatively, use the long slat is to run the full length of the drawer - files hanging parallel to the front of the drawer. Unfortunately, my bottom drawer did not have a slot cut in the back to hold the long slat - no way to install the long slat. Customer service was very responsive. They offered me a partial, but fair, refund if I had could still use the drawer without the long slat - or they would replace the drawer. I took the refund. While you have to cut a star for the defect - Customer Service redeemed the situation.

I bought two of these file cabinets because two was cheaper than just one of the matching cabinets for our new desks. I didn't expect them to be super great quality for the price but I am really happy with them. They have some weight to them and the drawers slide really nicely. I really like the extra wheel on the bottom drawer for stability once some files are added. They were also packaged extremely well. My only very minor complaint is that one of the wheels had the handle to lock in place broken off but honestly, I can't imagine we'd use it much since it's on carpet anyway.

Good product but not good enough. Unable to clean off the dirty area off the cabinet, even with rubbing alcohol. The sideview photo explained it all. What is going on there? Craftsmanship... a terrible built. I could give it 1 star. However, the shipping package is well constructed with metal frame around the cabinet, which provide extra protection. Easy to put together the wheels. No need to read instructions. $140 (including tax)... I am not 100% happy with the product quality. Since I am not the one who is going to look at the cabinet 24/7, we'll keep the product for now.Update 06/27/2018:I changed the review from 2-star to 5-star. Here is why: The seller reached out, they offered a partial refund or a brand new cabinet. I kindly took the partial refund option because we have already placed the unit in our office, no need to trouble the seller to send another one over. The seller left a message here and I didn't see it for maybe 2 months. I contacted them yesterday, they replied the next morning. Great communication and I really appreciate their kindness. Give them a chance and they will take good care of you. Thank you!

I could not be happier with this file cabinet. (1) I am so impressed with the packaging it came in - there was no way this was getting damaged during transport. (2) it was a breeze to put together. I only needed to add the 5 casters.- that probably took less than 7 minutes. Honestly, getting the file hanger inside the bottom cabinet was the most difficult part of the entire process. (3) it is sturdy. We are creating a work area for our 12 year old son at a table and he needs a place to store all of his work, keep his supplies, etc. Each Monday, we will wheel this out from a nearby closet and place it next to the table where he will attend virtual school and each Friday we can wheel it back in the closet and enjoy the weekend. Really really pleased with this purchase!
