Great Smart Thermostat with Touchscreen
I recently upgraded my home’s heating and cooling system with the Vine Smart Thermostat, and I’m really happy with its performance so far. It’s a well-designed, user-friendly thermostat with WiFi connectivity, a touchscreen color display, and smart home compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant. If you’re looking for an affordable and feature-rich thermostat, this is a great choice!Design & DisplayThe 2.8-inch color touchscreen is a standout feature. It’s bright, easy to read, and responsive to touch. I love how the interface is simple and well-organized, making it easy to adjust temperatures and settings. The display also shows useful information like indoor temperature, humidity, and system status at a glance.Installation & SetupThe installation process was relatively easy, but keep in mind that a C-wire is required. If your system doesn’t have one, you may need an adapter. The instruction manual was clear, and the setup took me about 30 minutes. Once installed, connecting it to WiFi and linking it with Alexa was smooth.Smart Features & PerformanceThis thermostat comes with 7-day/8-period programmable scheduling, which helps me optimize energy use throughout the day. The WiFi control via the Vine app is very convenient, allowing me to adjust the temperature from anywhere. The thermostat also integrates seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant, so I can change settings with voice commands.Energy Efficiency & SavingsSince installing this thermostat, I’ve noticed better control over my home’s heating and cooling, which has helped reduce energy costs. The scheduling feature prevents unnecessary heating or cooling when I’m away, and the app provides energy usage insights, which is a nice bonus.Final ThoughtsOverall, the Vine Smart Thermostat is an excellent value for the price. It’s modern, easy to use, and packed with smart features that make home climate control more efficient and convenient. If you need a WiFi thermostat with touchscreen functionality and smart home integration, I highly recommend this one!

My unit doesn't work and the software is awful... but not as bad as the support
Here is my interaction with VINE support:I followed 100% of the instructions that came with the VINE thermostat. I had two issues. (1) The VINE thermostat would not enter heating mode and (2) The VINE thermostat consistently displayed temperatures that were inaccurate by anywhere from 2 to 8 degrees.; Thank you for your response. I went through each of the steps and suggestions at a great expense of time to me. I followed each suggestion.Suggestions and response.SUGGESTION: 1.Why isn't my heating/cooling turning on?• Ensure the thermostat is wired correctly by following the instructions in the User ManualRESPONSE: The thermostat was set up exactly as the instructions specified. This was done even though the instructions were not well written.SUGGESTION: ― You can also try to reinstall your original thermostat to make sure there is not an HVAC system issue, that is preventing the system from turning on.RESPONSE: I followed this suggestion and my heating (and cooling) worked perfectly without any special configuration on my Emerson thermostat.COMMENT/SUGGESTION(?) If your heating/cooling doesn't come on with the original thermostat, you may need to contact a professional technician to service your equipment.RESPONSE: I thought a professional technician sent these messages. I would have like to communicate with a professional that would make such a comment. After all, I didn't say anything about the possibility that your chips overheat causing the thermostat to read temperature to be inaccurate... or, I didn't suggest that your professional(?) quality control people may have sent out an untested unit.SUGGESTION: • Secure wire connections.RESPONSE: I ensured secure wire connections.COMMENT/SUGGESTION? ― If you attempt to pull a wire, it ought to remain firmly in place and not be dislodged. Make sure the wire is all the way down and seated in the thermostat terminals. If you aren't sure, push the paddle down and pull the wire out. Then, try to push it back into the terminal for a better fit.RESPONSE: Of course I "attempted" to pull a wire to ensure connection. I am quite sure it was connected. I have over 50 years experience with wiring and an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.COMMENT: • Ensure that there is power to your HVAC system and there is no error code on your control board indicating a system issue.― If there is an error code or no power to your system, contact an HVAC professional to service your equipment.RESPONSE: Oh.. I see that your comments were meant to be explanations of your responses. Well my response is that I am now cynical. Turn the power on??? c'mon man!SUGGESTION: • Reset breakers.• Make sure the furnace/air handler door compartments are securely screwed down and closed. If the door panels are not secure, the system will not start.RESPONSE: Please see my previous response.MY COMMENT IN CONCLUSION: The VINE 550 thermostat is not well tested. I strongly suspect that the VINE software is a fault as a thermostat is a very simple unit to design. If you have a Chief Design or Chief Technology officer this unit suggests you might need a new one. I messed around calling your "no support" telephone number and trying reasonable things that one of your end customers might try. Granted you don't run into a majority of your client base that have extensive EE backgrounds. The VINE company should go through the 20% of the feedback that have rated your product as 1 star. And to add the final icing of insult, Amazon said you want to add a re-stocking fee. For what??? You can't re-stock a defective unit unless of course you already know it is a software issue. So, I am a very dissatisfied customer. I don't usually get this worked up about a product.
