Fill Your Own Advent Calendar 24 Days Reusable 1-24 Empty Drawers for Christmas Countdown (Pink)

Bought two of these (in different colours) to make advent calendars for my 2 20 something daughters who both live away from home and needed a treat. The item is quite expensive but comes ready assembled and is very sturdy - stands up on its own even when filled and is likely to last many years. However, the 5cm square boxes are a real challenge to fill with anything other than chocolate - most of the cheap and cheerful things that immediately spring to mind are too big - so I settled for half chocolate and half with little gifts in and rearranged the boxes so that the numbers were more random. If you’re thinking this might be a budget way to make your own advent calendars each year, beware - it isn’t! I seem to have spent a small fortune on bags of different wrapped Christmas chocolates so there’s something different in each of the chocolate filled boxes, and filling all the others with tiny gifts took ages, needing much research (Etsy and Amazon have been essential) and spending much more money than I’d intended, so having said the box will last ages, I can’t see myself refilling them next year (maybe they’ll refill one of them for me?!) Still, I’m pleased with the results and the girls will love them. More original than any standard chocolate advent calendar, but price wise, the filled calendar has cost closer to those filled with makeup or alcohol - ie much more than I’d intended to spend when I set out!

Decided to mix it up this year and buy something I could fill for the boy (and wife!). Won't do it any other way from now on as it's such a better experience for the recipient. You can fill them with what you know they like best, and doesn't just have to be chocolate / sweets. For the wife I bought some little stocking filler type presents and hid them around the house, I then put a little note in each opening for where to find it along with a little chocolate too. My boy was thrilled to discover different sweets / choc I know that he loves rather than the same thing every day too! Glad to have discovered these and recommend for anyone wanting to make the whole advent calendar experience a bit more personal.

When it arrived the right corner was damaged and the box was broken too.the boxes themselves are just cheap card that is easily damaged, in the photos they seem more sturdy.

Great - very sturdy and looks fantastic. Drawers are larger than most advent calendars so can fit more than a single chocolate.
