No kitemarks
Got this only to find it has neither UK nor EU kitemarks, which means there is no guarantee that it is made to standard. In fact, there was a BBC documentary (Fake Britain) which showed that cheap fire blankets not made to UK/EU standards can actually be dangerous if used.I've wasted my money, but learnt something for the future.

Pay more and get a genuine one
Bought in May 2015. After seeing a review on fake Britain April 2016 on how to check the authenticity of these I noticiced even though the case says EN1869 there is NO label on the product. Because of this and not wanting to take any chances I have bought a different more expensive one and the quality and workmanship of that along with all labels etc are plain to see. Don't buy this one it appears to be FAKE!

A necessity, for your home.
What I liked are the clear instructions on the outside of the emergency fire blanket on how to use it. What I dislike haven't used it yet and I hope to keep it that way so I don't have to talk about dislikes. This is a very important item to have incase of a kitchen fire "burning hot fat " or some one ketching fire and a fire blanket is the best tool for the job to put that fire out .

just 3 stars
instructions say to pull both straps that are each side of the container bag, but mine came with both straps on the same side.easily fixed but for a safety item, it should be done right. i wouldn't be expected to 'fix' a fire extinguisher, so why a fire blanket?wish i looked at the actual reviews rather than rely on 'amazon best seller'/overall star rating before buying.- plenty of 1 star reviews regarding lack of kitemarks and such like.

Essential for every kitchen
I got this ‘just in case’ for peace of mind. I had a small kitchen fire and this blanket put it out immediately. It takes some arm/hand strength to open though so you might want to try it before an actual emergency if you are weaker. Worth every penny, I’m so glad I got it.
