CAMVATE Quick Release Mount Base QR Plate for Manfrotto 501/ 504/ 577/701 Tripod Standard Accessory(Red)

I am upgrading my package, and while itseems like a lot of gear is made somewhere, and then branded, priced, and sold against itself. Or, the relative quality of gear at similar price points is too unpredictable. I have to buy a lot of stuff, and Camvate has become a brand I trust.This baseplate is as good as some I have that cost several times the price. I needed a quick release that works with standard Manfrotto plates. The ratcheting bolts make more complicated builds, or working in tight spaces, easier. The quality and finish of the metal is very good. I have no complaints

I got this because I was having problem using my battery adapter and at the same time using a plate at the bottom of the camera, I thought I could screw it in the bottom part but my battery adapter is thick and it won't fit the the huge battery, even that in the position I installed feels good, is a good counterweight for the lenses, follow focus and matte box. Solid build, really like the quality and it's going to solve a lot of issues I've been having.

Everything about this is adequate. Won't break the bank, has built in tripod mount and quick release head, and adjustable rod support. Fits 501 quick release heads. Tightens enough with right amount of torque. The problem is when you have the rods inserted and your lenses mounted adjusting the height of the rods is difficult do. You need small and highly flexible fingers to reach the locking screw.

Works perfectly for what I need it for. I'm able to rig up my camera and attachments as a video shoulder rig and then quickly detach for photos without taking the whole thing apart. The only criticism I have is that it's not quite perfectly compatible with CAMVATES newest adjustable DSLR cage. Other than that, this thing is proving very useful for me.

While trying to remove one of my metal rods the fastener would not loosen to the point where i hate to hacksaw the screw in order to get my metal rod out of it. Terrible engineering when a simple fastener doesn't work...

Good rail mount for my A7riii. It works as expected. Rods fit easily and securely.

I love the red and black color scheme and the construction is second to none

There are other big brand versions running 5 times the price. The quality is the same if not better.

I picked up something similiar from another manuacturer which was just around $10 cheaper. I had to send that one back because it was completely faulty. I almost replaced it with a smallrig version (knowing that would be very high quality) but the smallrig was $125 and does not come with a baseplate. So I decided to go for the cheaper option again with low expectations but was very happy with the quality. It's basically what I would say is similar quality to what I find with smallrig products. Very well machined, and solid build with more thread holes than you will ever need. One nice detail too was the spring ratchet fasteners. Quality piece of rigging.
