DO. IT.
I'm a tropical ecologist (in the making to be precise) and I've had a few awful experiences with bed bugs and I TAKE THEM VERY VERY VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. Don't mess around with bed bugs. They are incredibly hard and expensive to get rid of. Overall I've bought two ZappBug ovens (This large one and their smaller unit). I'm still waiting for my big one (more on that later). I've made my bosses buy two of these as well.I trust this company, and their products, 100%.When I was working in Ethiopia the house I stayed at had them... and they followed me around for three months. I hand washed in scalding water everything I could. I wiped down EVERYTHING I OWNED with Ethanol- I mean every little bandage. The process was horrific, especially since I only had one day off a week. I would repeat the process, just in case I missed any, every other Sunday. When I got home I put everything inside my ZappBug RIGHT away. Forgot to even take out the deodorant- I didn't even care. I'm 100% sure that this is the reason why I didn't bring them into my home. Now, whenever anyone in my team travels we come to the lab, take out our samples and Zapp everything. It's effective and so much cheaper than treating your whole house if you get infected. This unit also fits our largest bags and it's incredibly convenient. The smaller one doesn't fit a regular suitcase.I've recently (a day ago) purchased my own home and imagine my HORROR upon discovering four, three-bite, clusters three days before closing. My worst effing nightmare, in my apartment (which I share with two other people), in the USA...Right before I moved into my home. I tried to have my unit from MA shipped to FL but it would have cost $100 dollars. So I splurged on this (buying a home is so expensive so it was truly a splurge). To be honest, though, it's so worth it. This company and their products have brought me, and my team members, so much peace and security. I know I will continue using it whenever I travel. I've given my little unit my sister and her husband who love traveling. Bed bugs are becoming an epidemic and this is your best preventive measure and will facilitate eradication.I also use D-earth powder and rubbing alcohol to wipe down things I can't put in here like ink packages etc. I also use a combination of giant Ziplock bags (never travel without them!). If I have the bugs at home (or think I may) I also use construction grade garbage bags (which I put the ziplock inside of), as bed bugs can get through thinner plastic.

Go on Defence and fight back to get control
First it's big and roomy. I was able to put two dinning room chairs, large book bag, large couch pillows, and a pillowcase full of cloths in the oven. It comes with one wireless thermometer but I bought several extra indoor/outdoor thermometers like this: Taylor 1522 Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer, and placed the temperature sensors deep under layers and folds throughout the contents of bag to monitor the temperatures. The temperature rose quickly inside the over and the thicker items took a little longer to get to the right bug roasting at 120 degrees. Items need to be heated thoroughly internally/externally penetrating the cracks and crevices where bugs hide. So the oven gets to about 145 degrees inside. It recommended that you run the Oven from 4 to 8 hours depending on it contents. There are two included timer units that can be set at adjustable times of when you want heater to shut off.The package contains everything you will need to set it up. It even has an extra extension cord to make sure both heaters are on different circuit outlets. The two heater are small and look like legos to me. They have a switch on the bottom that will automatically turn unit off if knocked over. So, if its not perfectly seated on the switch the units will not power on. The oven heat tunnels made my heaters sit up too high so I had to put something underneath so the switch would make contact with the floor.I bought this because I wanted to be able to put bigger things in oven the just my carry-on luggage. And, to be able to do larger quantities on items that need bug extermination.Overall the ZappBug Oven 2 works very well. It is constructed out of a heavy canvas type of material and space age heat retainers, kind of like a Pizza over bag. It has a wire collapsible frame like you may have seen on some standup laundry bags. This system also allows it to fold down flat and be stored in the included storage bag. It is definitely better than some of the other brands of heating unit sold that I have tried: ThermalStrike Expedition - Bed Bug Heat Treatment. Still need to write a review for that one too. This is the larger unit and they sell smaller and larger units. Find one that meets your needs is recommended by me.
