Thread right into 1” bulkheads

Makes a great critter guard for my AC drain pipe
We live in rural Florida, with lots of geckos, that for some reason crawl into the AC water drain pipe and end up blocking it off. I even enlarged the pipe from ¾" to 1", but it did not solve the problem. When I saw this screen strainer I immediately ordered it, and I screwed right into a 1" threaded PVC coupler with no problem (see photo). Finally my blocked rain pipe problem is solved! They say this is 1". It is not. It is 1.25"
They say this is 1". It is not. It is 1.25" It is well made and will do the job, but it won't fit a 1" footing or a standard garden hose.
