Excellent sound treatment for a budget studio!
The material is thin thus it wont deaden sound, but it’s certainly better than nothing. I use this in conjunction with custom built absorbing panels and these serve as great compliments, especially given the size of my small studio. Love the color and design as well. It is very much used functionally as it is aesthetically. It fluffs up to its full volume in about a day after removal from the vacuum sealed packaging.

Simple way to reduce noise
These foam pads are a straightforward solution to noise. I am using them in my studio where I do voiceovers and they do a great job of keeping the background quiet. They come squished down to about an inch for the whole pack of 12 so you will need to let them puff up. They say you can do that in the dryer if you need them immediately, but I just let them sit for a day, and they puffed up on their own. They do not come with anything to mount them with so you will need to find a solution. They recommend adhesive tape or spray but I got by with thumbtacks. The material is just soft foam and probably would not hold up under a lot of abrasion, but they are just supposed to be hung on the wall so they shouldn't have any problems.

Spend a bit more and get better ones these suck.
Don’t waste your money just buy a better one nothing but problems, cheap, opened a pack (followed the instructions and let them rise) and half of them were bad, never stays up besides just supergluing them to the wall and that’s not an option for some. Came back to rewrite this review because of how many problems I have with them. seriously just spend a some extra and get better quality ones and save yourself some frustration.

it helps to control noise
I put these in a door that is in my living room that faces for the rental room, and although they are fine, it helps to control noise. And they are very easy to place. Good value for money.

These work great in my vocal booth
Overall these were a great purchase. I used adhesive and put them in the ceiling of my vocal booth. They do come very vacuum sealed and sucked down to just a few inches thick, meaning they'll need to expand before you can use some if not all of them. I've seen people saying they won't expand back to normal. I have found the easiest way to get them back into shape and get rid of some of that chinese factory smell, is to put about a dozen at a time in the clothes dryer on low for 5 minutes and add another 5 as needed until they return to normal. You may have a few edges or in my case, corners that needed a kick in beanbags with a hair dryer or heat gun on lowest setting to get them to expand. It does take keeping the heat on the edge for a few seconds, so don't move it back and forth too fast. You will soon notice that like some people, it will slowly creep back into its proper shape when sufficiently heated. For installation I used 3M Super77 spray adhesive and gave the back of each tile a light coating, 3 at a time. While they were getting tacky, I measured out the approximate area in the booth and gave it a light coating as well. When both surfaces were tacky, it was go time! Keep in mind these will shrink a bit, maybe 3mm, in the first few days, so pack 'em tight to each other to help counter this issue. So far their performance has been as expected. Nothing to complain about here. I would recommend these to anyone who read down to this point in the review.Peace out!

Mixed bag... let's hope for the best (and maybe prepare for the worst).
So, I'm hoping that I can go and update my review later, but so far, I am not liking the product. I've opened one (of 5) ordered in the hopes that they will solve my interesting problem- creating a sound/impact barrier for my media room. I question whether the density will work well enough to solve either problem.- The item comes "sandwiched" in plastic, to a degree that it will take some time to expand, and the foam may have been malformed during packaging. So far, it hasn't expanded to the 2" of thickness that it was described as in the product description.- The total surface area 12"x12" is accurate.- Look: They are dark enough to satisfy the media room darkness requirement.- Value: Questionable. They're inexpensive, but do not necessarily solve the issue.- Material: It's foam. It's going to smell and probably gas off a bit.I'll likely give it a day or two to finish "inflating" to size, and may try to adhere it to the wall. If it doesn't work out, I may try to use a backer and fabric cover to create pads for the wall, which will cost more but may achieve the desired outcome.

Better office environment
I was impressed at first as the package seemed to have only a couple of foams, but then I learned they were squeezed so tightly and I had to leave them by their own for 24-48 hours. After that they got back to their form . I installed them in my self made office in the garage of my house. I have a door from the kitchen directly to my office, so I have a lot of meetings during the day, while everybody is cooking in the kitchen. so there is mix of noises like the blender, microwave, refrigerator open timeout alarm, and my meetings. I put these foams around the common wall between my office and the kitchen and the noise has reduced a lot for both areas, making a better ambience and reducing also distractions and interruptions.
