Received this yesterday and used it quickly. I have a glass 5 quart Kitchen- Aide stand mixer and this new paddle works fantastic. Didn't have to scrape the sides of the glass bowl down. Saved me time, easy to clean, and at a great price.

This edge beater is great. Keep the sides clean.

The reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is that it slings the dry ingredients out of the bowl more than the regular beater does

Wow, this is a game changer. Creamed butter and sugar like a charm. Also, the cookie batter came together really easily without too much scraping necessary. Very happy with the purchase.

The beater has a compatible attachment for a number of mixers listed in the product description; it attached correctly to a K45SS. However, I found the the silicone scraping edge to be fairly stiff, so when I used this in an OEM mixing bowl, on a freshly adjust K45SS mixer (one of the described mixers that this is intended to fit), the scraper edge made an intolerable screeching noise as it traversed the bowl, to the point where I could not use it. I tried adding some water as a lubricant, and that didn't help. (Perhaps using an actual mixing batter, or eggs, would make a difference; I'll try it again the next time I'm baking, and report back if I get a different result.)When I compared this to an OEM baseline flat beater I found that the profile of this beater is a bit different. Unfortunately I did not find it possible to adjust the mixer far enough to all use of this beater with the OEM bowl.When I used an aftermarket bowl (which has a slightly different profile), the noise was substantially reduced, so I might find it more useful on those bowls, but that defeats one of the key idealized purposes, which is interchangeable-ness. I'm a bit disappointed, but I can't give this more than 3 stars.
