Overall, very good with one complaint - the base legs need to be wider apart, to allow a larger bowl or container to be put under the strainer. This one only allows about a 5.25” diameter bowl, which isn’t large enough. The old fashioned ones of these made by WearEver branched out from the top of the stand to allow a std size mixing bowl to fit underneath. That is so much more convenient! So, I am returning this and buying a used Wear-Ever from the 1960s/70s off of eBay instead. If you are making larger quantities of applesauce like I am, I suggest you do the same. I couldn’t find a new one on Amazon that had a wider stand.

This is a great find!!
This can be used for making applesauce or even as a potato ricer. I grew up with one in my family. They were larger back then but this one has all the pieces and all the function. The pestle/mallet is a perfect fit.
