Very Helpful
I've known about the Central Bank all of my adult life, but never really understood it until I read A Brief History of Central Banking. This was easy to read, which for a complicated topic is not an easy thing to do, kudos to the author Dominic Haynes. This gives a very thorough history of it's foundation and how it's changed through the years. It also gave me a better understanding of moving forward. With such unsure economic times, knowledge is power and knowing more about what runs the financial world, at least the Western world is very helpful.

Fascinating!
I'm not sure that I previously would have said this topic is fascinating, BUT IT IS! I am so glad I read this. I didn't know the history of European banking practices and how this now forms the foundation of our modern banking system. And I had no idea how the banking system was a big part of getting us out of the Great Depression. So interesting. This book is perfect for any history buff. It really was a fantastic read! How modern Europe transformed ancient banking practices to create central bankingHow central banking proved instrumental in saving Western civilization during the Great DepressionHow unconventional practices like quantitative easing and negative interest rates entered the mixHow challenges and innovations like populism, globalization, and digital currencies are changing the world of central bankingHow some of the most pervasive central banking conspiracy theories started and why they still persist todayHow central banking operates as a bedrock of our modern global economy

Written by AI
AI written. “Dominic Haynes” is a not a real person. The writing is generic and disorganized, exactly like it would be if AI wrote it. “Dominic Haynes” has published over a dozen books in the last two years about various topics. How? Because it’s AI slop

Briefly, about Banking
Being a bit of a history buff, this was a good read about central banking-- a random side step in my usual reads in the historical realm. From ancient Europe and early days to the Great Depression. This book also touches base on conspiracies regarding central banking to practices in banking today -- just to give a hint of what is hidden in the pages.

A brief and surface level light read
This book is good as a light read about central banking . However, the knowledge is only surface level and does not go indepth about the history of central banking nor financial history .This book is only useful for surface level reading. Its not a terrible book , just a BRIEF introduction to Central Banking .
