Pathophysiology: A Practical Approach 1st Edition

This text was a pretty standard text, built around body systems. Pretty well organized, first talks about the system overall with a basic summary of your A&P (which is super useful having taken A&P nearly 5 years before taking pathophysio class), then breaks off into paragraphs of each disease with sections grouping some disease types together. Good flow within each disease discussing the treatment options, conditions and manifestations, and symptoms. I also liked that it focused on some diseases more than others. Like, you might encounter a disease process that has a paragraph dedicated to it and then one that is more important with maybe one or two pages to it. That is something I liked a lot and found very useful!

As a nursing student I find it sometimes hard to really enjoy class reading assignments. Most of the time it's not because the book is boring but rather because the information goes far beyond the information we are learning in class or is difficult to understand. This book is just the opposite! All the information is simple to understand without "dummming" is down so much you feel like its a high school book. This book is a perfect balance and I have her much enjoyed reading it, and I would highly recommend it.

Best price around for my Patho class materials. Came with the online access code and worked with no issues. Beats my school's bookstore by $45. Good synopsis of very general pathophysiology for someone who wishes to brush up on the subject or one interested in learning the fundamentals. The book is an easy read without complicated terminology.

This book oversimplifies pathophysiology. At first I was happy that it was so thin, but later I realized that less is not better, and I found myself reaching for my fatter pathophysiology textbook which was much more thorough in its explanations.I'd recommend this book for anyone who doesn't really want to understand pathophysiology and simply wants a quick gist of the disorders.I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone serious about learning pathophysiology

I don't like the online resource that comes with the book. Pretty much wasn't use full and feels like they just added the online bit just to say that the book had online resource as a selling perk. Also I wish the chapters had ch. overviews at the end of them along with questions.

Bought this for my girlfriend's nursing class. She says it is the exact book she needed and for significantly less than the book store or any other site. Book also came in amazing condition! highly recommend.
