Works! And is also a Qi certified wireless phone charger. They really should advertise that.
I saw someone post this on Reddit and it works like you think. I had better luck putting it in a room without a draft or anything to bump the table it’s on, otherwise the floating bulb gets kind of wobbly but it just sticks to the lamp if it does. One thing I didn’t realize and they don’t really advertise is the base is a wireless Qi phone charger. So not only does it look cool but I put it on my night stand and can actually use it to charge my phone overnight. Kind of made up for feelIn like it was a frivolous purchase to my wife anyway. This would make a great gift for a kid or teen.

Coolest thing ever
The media could not be loaded. This is now the coolest thing that I own. It seems to work by some sort of wizardry or magnets, but I'm pretty certain magic is involved.The only cons are that the light isn't super bright and the stem/base does feel a bit cheap next to the light itself. That said, I still highly recommend it.

Not worth the money
The bulb on this light is very dim and will not remain suspended. It starts to move independently and then falls or sticks to the top. Very nice idea but it does not live up to expectations.

Unique lamp
Got this for Christmas for my husband, he loved it. Specially for the wireless charging feature since he forgets to plug his phone. He loves it, so much he ordered a second one for my nightstand. It makes a little humming sound sometimes but we usually just put the bulb down, it’s mostly quiet. Last thing it’s not very bright. It’s comparable to a candle, can’t see around the room. Not even inside the drawer of my nightstand so you have an idea. Still love it. Would definitely recommend it.

Now my son-in-law wants one
I bought this as a gift, and my daughter absolutely loves it. Now my son-in-law also wants one. It is not bright enough to read by, more of a night light. But it's fun to play with (it spins) and a conversation starter. It also charges your phone.

Cool gizmo but if the power goes out the glass bulb instantly drops and breaks…
