Great alarm clock for kids
My 11 yr old daughter needed her first alarm clock now that she’s in middle school, and I got her this one. It came well packaged and is really a perfect clock to gift a preteen or teenager who just got their first phone or has a laptop/tablet they can download apps on. It’d also work well for a much younger kid, as an adult can set up the clock and alarm with the app and then there isn’t much the kid can reset with the remote that would affect it. It does require the app to work though.First we tried out the remote, but it seemed to mostly just switch between colors on the clock. There are a lot of really cool patterns and dozens that I would have enjoyed as a kid, and she’s been cycling through them each day. We couldn’t find a way to set the clock’s time or the alarm from the remote and seemed to need the app for that.To download the app you scan a QR code in the manual. I then handed her the app and let her try to set it up while I made dinner, and it seemed to go very well. She said that once the app was paired over bluetooth the time synced with the phone automatically. I looked over the settings and she set an alarm for 6:30-6:35 with rainbow coloring and a sound and I showed her how to add another where just the plain white light came on 6:25-6:30 with no sound. It didn’t seem to work though, and the next day she told me it went off 4 times starting at 6:25 and ending at 6:55.This wasn’t the fault of the clock though, and seemed to be because she thought that snooze should have turned the sound off. She read through the manual again once I explained that snooze added 10 more minutes, and she used the app to change some settings further. Although, she also decided the earlier alarm with just the light and no sound didn’t work and she disabled it, which was one of the main features I wanted on this clock. I haven’t had time to look into it though, so perhaps it’s an easy fix.The alarm itself can be turned off with the remote in the mornings, and I haven’t tried using the app to turn it off. One time she also told me the alarm went off too quietly one morning, but she was able to reconfigure it and fix the problem herself. The manual it comes with is a bit long and I haven’t read the whole thing. She’s been using it for a week now and there’s been no big issues with it and she’s gotten to the bus stop on time everyday. It also looks really nice in her room and goes well with her style, although you can’t see the time on it from very far away. Sometimes she also uses it as a lamp at night as some settings are very bright. Also, batteries are not included and it needed two AAAs for the remote.

Neat clock/nightlight but could be even better
For starters, this clock is pretty impressive out of the box - the light ring is definitely cool. But don't try to set the time from either the clock or the remote as it can only be auto-set via Bluetooth connection to your phone. It has a fairly extensive list of features, and they all work pretty much as described in the listing but it is hard to really understand how everything works until actually playing with it for a while. The main attraction of this for me was the "Awaken" mode where it gradually gets brighter/louder at the desired time. You can set a start and end time, desired sound and light mode. Then, it will come on with quiet sound/dim light and then gradually increase volume and brightness as it reaches the end time. I liked how this worked, until I found out that at the end of this time the clock completely powers off! Stops making any sound, light turns off - even the small clock display shuts off and goes black. I thought surely there must be some sort of setting to work around this, but that's just how it works. And even crazier is that in order to get the display back on, you have to turn it back on from the app. Pressing the power button on the clock does nothing, and using the remote will briefly light the screen for a couple seconds, then it goes back off. Then, there is the standard "local alarm clock" mode. This works more like a traditional alarm clock. Unlike awaken mode, this can be set from either the remote or via the app. However, when setting with the remote it defaults to repeat every day. It would be much better if this defaulted to just once. If you don't want it to go off 7 days a week, you have to use the app to select the days. But the biggest head scratcher for me here is that this does not provide any light or sound options - it just uses a default alarm bell sound, even though the clock has a bunch of other pre-programmed sounds that I would rather use for waking up. Oh, and while the awaken mode allows multiple start/end times to be set, the local alarm clock is limited to just one alarm setting. It does have a snooze feature activated by pressing a remote button or a short press on the clock's power button.Outside of the alarm modes, there are a bunch of pre-set light modes that are fun to play with, and also a nice selection of different sounds to use as white noise, etc. These can all be controlled from the remote as well.A few other things that bother me a bit: even with the clock set to display time in 12 hour format, setting alarms either on the clock or with the app are 24 hour mode only. Also, the built-in ambient temperature display reads about 5 degrees F lower than actual. There is a "breathe" mode for the light which has a set pattern which is pretty fast; would be nice if this could be adjustable.Overall, I like the clock and it has a lot of nice features. It seems to me that most of the strange operations noted above could probably be fixed with an app update, and then this would really be an awesome clock - the potential is there.

It is alright
The lights are plenty bright. The colors are a bit toned down. The app is a bit sluggish. I wish it came with batteries for the remote. The remote has a bit of a delay.Setting up the clock with app is very nice. The speakers are terrible. The rise to wake doesn't work well. Overall it is a below average sunrise alarm clock.

Will not wake you up!
This alarm clock it can simply be used as a nice watch because of the RBG lights it actually is a nice side lamp, relaxation or a machine that can help you fall asleep. The clock has small numbers, it comes with a remote control without batteries; it does gives you the option of downloading an app but it can be very buggy at times and the time telling comes on a 24 hour format without an option to change in the app.On the other hand, when alarm goes off the sound is very low and it will use bird sounds to wake you up. I am a heavy sleeper and in a couple of instances it just contributed for me to fall into a deeper sleep stage, not the best alarm to be quite honest but I would mostly recommend as a night stand clock.
