As long as it lasts long term i consider it perfect
This thing is a beast! I set it up in my basement which is in the 700sqft range. I had a smaller 35pint GE dehumidifier that couldnt seem to get the job done so I replaced it with the 70 pint Ivation unit.Just to compare, I set up both units, emptied the old one and started them at the same time. 10 hrs later I went down to check on them. The new 70 pint Ivation unit already had a full bucket and had shut off! The old unit (which isnt more than 6 yrs old) was still chugging away and the bucket was only 1/3 full!So now i knew the new unit was going to solve my problem. I emptied the new Ivation unit and kept it running. The bucket fills up 2-3 times a day and this unit REALLY moves the humidity numbers. Im generating so much water that I hooked up the hose to the pump and now it automatically pumps the condensate into a drain so I dont have to keep an eye on it.Initially to get the humidity down the unit does throw a decent amount of heat and will raise the temp in your space, but heat is better than humidity right? But rest assured, once it reaches the set humidity level and is just maintaining, your space will not be much warmer than normal.Based on several weeks with it, I would definitely purchase this unit again. Its simple, effective, yet has thoughtful features and seems substantial in quality. I hope it runs for a number of years.

Pump is working very well
Is a little noisy like others we've had over the years. Rolls well to different locations. It has an energy Star rating but we haven't seen our utility bill yet. Does a good job of drawing moisture from the basement. Had to empty the bucket twice a day. Did buy additional tubing & ran it horizontally from one joist to another then vertical down into our utility tub. Easy to get pump running and doing an excellent job of keeping the humidity out of the basement without the pain of emptying the bucket all the time. We had 2 dehumidifiers go out in 3 years! So I did pick up the insurance (4 year plan) for this one. I'm hoping this unit lasts longer than our last two.

Works great but only lasted for 2 years. Pump ? broke
The unit was very effective for 2 years then the pump out feature stopped working. Customer support could not advise as to a solution. I was told there are no parts available nor a detail diagram of the internals of the unit. Their was no authorized repair shops. I would rate the reliability poor.

Work great for one year-stop working in second year
Pro: Work great in upper level 1800+ sq ft Ranch, in Southwest Michigan.Con: 1.) Stoped working in second year 2.) trouble shoot, (utube-no help from customer support), Freon leak out/low pressure. 3.) No recharge valve installed on low pressure side. 4. Unable to find anyone to service/recharge unit 5.) Not cost effective to DIY, cost of recharge valve and Freon (R-410A @ cost of $124 and up for 2 lb) 6. Called ivation customer service- refer to specialist voice mail- no return call received. 7. Not cost effective to spend this kind of money and get one full season out of unit. With no practical way to service 8. This unit was made to use R-410A Freon ONLY! Others built during transition period to use final low cost transitional Freon and R-410A. Not ivation.I will not buy another ovation product - my opinion they built product with low long term use possible.

Works well
Using this to dehumidify a 2000 sq. Ft. Basement. So far it has worked great. Using the included hose, the unit is able to pump the water to a utility sink for drainage. Our basement has a concrete floor and so it’s easy to notice a small (half-dollar sized) puddle of water under the point where the unit connects to the hose. The puddle forms sporadically so perhaps it has something to do with the pump shutting on and off. It’s not enough water to concern me, but if you had wood or carpet you might want to set the unit on some kind of flat platter for peace of mind. It may be that the hose connection is loose, but given it a specialty piece and I’m uncertain about how to replace should it break, I’m not spending time trying to force the hose to fit tighter. After just 3 days it was able to bring the relative humidity from 80 to 55 with the temperature remaining at 70 degrees and so I am very pleased with its performance. It’s not particularly loud — not at all audible on the main floor (older house with no sound dampening). The unit puts out warm air but that’s the nature of beast.I’ll update this review once we’ve used the unit for a few months. So far — happy with purchase.

THE BEST, don’t hesitate! Several years now
I’m in TEXAS. Yeah it’s HUMID here. And Ive tried several dehumidifiers sent them all back. I live in 600sq ft. This thing sucks so much water I empty it in august every two to three days. Over 2gal, it amazes me bc when it’s full I feel it, I mean my mood literally is worse, and I realize oh its the dehumidifier I need to empty it, and it always is. One PROBLEM was my fault, I didn’t read and had a knob not turned “off” in back or something. (I hired a person to deal with it) and I had what I thought was leakage. It was bad. But it was me not closing switch in back. I will use the hose eventually but you bet I’ll make sure it’s on well and I’ll comb the reviews bc if there’s a way to work with it I think this machine is very worth it. What I’ve realized is: You need a compressor, you need a pump, you need a beast and yes hot air will come out but once the humidity is lowered and you have AC where you like it you will FEEL BETTER. This has been a summer from hell and also I’m so sick of buying stuff that doesn’t work. This does. I don’t know what the criteria is in those “BEST OF rankings” bc I tried three of them, no, no, no. And now that I see how much water this pulls I know it works. Less potential for mold, I feel better. And the thermostat oddly doesn’t have to be as high (I can’t explain that, bc it does give out hot or warm air) but it’s in another room. I sort wonder why we don’t use ac type ducts for the warm air but it’s fine. Oh, and IVE HAD IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

Works great but a bit loud.
I've had it for a week and it's working great. I mainly bought it for the pump so if can drain into sink instead of manually draining (which would be twice a day in summer!). Unit was easy to set up. It's pretty loud compared to my neighbour's danby. But they don't have a pump. I have no regrets myself since it's in our basement, but if noise is going to be an issue for you, you may want to consider a quieter one.

Really good buy until ....
Really good product until recently the blower fan just desintegrated. The vertical pump and all the other parts are working perfectly... Will try to get the part from costumer support!!!

Ivation 30 pint not recommended, 70 pint with pump so far is OK
I bought Ivation 30 pint three months ago and have many problems; lately the temperature does not show the real one and though I connected to the drain hole; water stays in the tank and I have to empty from time to time! Ivation 30 pint is not a product I recommend. However, I bought Ivation 70 pint with internal pump one month ago that so far works good and have no issue with it.
