Simple effective small footprint attenuator, perfect for linking a Bluetooth receiver to a massive amplifier.Note, this *does not* contain a preamplifier. It is unpowered. Its purpose is to *reduce* the audio level from the input device if necessary, for example the line level from a powered BT rx, before input to a 1kW stereo power amplifier.Without this attenuator, the BT rx would claim the audio signal as soon as the phone is in range and send full absolutely unhinged line volume to the power amp. With this attenuator, the automatic audio transfer to the BT rx results in an adjustable, sane, neighbor-friendly, output volume.My neighbors give this product five stars, which is a significant upgrade from their frantic text messages at 3am that BFG Division is shaking their house apart.This product will *not* work as a preamplifier for record players. It is an adjustable attenuator, not an amplifier, and it is very nice, even if my neighbors no longer get to listen to whatever I'm listening to.

Worked perfectly
Have this set up for my sub woofer for two receivers. It works perfectly. No hum at all. Would recommend.

Nice little Unit for controlling Master Volume and Two Device Swapping
Great for controlling passive preampted devices into powered speakers. Things like older phones with headphone Jack ports, CD players, Cassette decks, Computer headphone jack outputs, etc

Quality item with a solid housing and very smooth sweep on volume control. Works perfectly as attenuator. In a world of cheap items it nice to see an item as well made as this! Highly recommended and worth the money!

Lightweight version
There happen to be two versions of this product, yet they have the same model number FV2. I did not know in advance, and ordered this version. It has poor build quality and a rough feeling potentiometer. The more expensive version (2X cost) has an ALPS RK27. The box is quite lightweight and might slide around during use. If you are going to set it once and leave it, I guess it would be fine. I do like the toggle switch.

Very helpful to lower line out to the right level
Got my record player line out to the right level for the preamp to work right before going to the surround apeakers
