Updated, very happy!
Updated: seller was amazing! They reached out when they didn’t have to. They went above and beyond, I’m very impressed. Thank you so much for what you did. We ended getting a brand new one sent to us. We just received it so hopefully this fun product will last longer as he continues to work hard to reach his hockey goals. It’s very helpful to improve stick handling! We just missed the window to return it. It was a Christmas gift. Only used a handful of times and was well taken care of. Lights were on and off glitchy from day one. We just dealt with it and now it no longer works. We probably shouldn’t have ignored the little glitch. Product is way too expensive for it to break after a few uses.

Great Challenge! Use With Artificial Ice Pad for Maximum Benefit
I've been trying to find ways for my kids to play and practice hockey at home and this has been super fun!Unlike so many of the other stickhandling trainers, this one has intelligently integrated technology that dramatically increases its usefulness. While other stickhandling trainers rely on you simply passing the puck back and forth, this one provides immediate challenge and feedback as you have to pass the puck through the posts when the light comes on, improving both your handling and reaction time (much better for in game reflexes).I love how flexible it is, allowing you to simulate various layouts for maximum challenge. Not everything needs additional technology, but this seems like an item that has really benefitted from the addition of sensors. It helps "gamify" your practice to make it a lot more fun and rewarding.

It's alright
I've used a few different skills trainers in the past and this one is similar to many. To be clear, three stars to me means the product is average - it doesn't wow me.The good: it's relatively compact to store, works generally pretty well, and is engaging to play with. The bad: it doesn't always capture a score, and the idea of these types of trainers in general require the player to look down, which is a bad habit on the ice. That said, you can also use it without the point counting function. I also found the supplied puck did not slide particularly well on synthetic ice tiles. The thing that I really dislike about this product is the need to use a special ball/puck in order to use the electronic features. If you lose those, or if they stop working, you've fully lost the capability to use this as intended, in which case you'd be better off with a non-electronic one at 1/3 of the price. I don't feel like it would have been that more difficult or expensive to use some sort of sensor that could identify any ball or puck so that this could be used with other items. That, in my opinion, would have elevated this quite a bit.

Not a gimmick
When I ordered this I thought it looked kind of gimmicky, expecting something like a cheap little air hockey table but what I got was not a gimmick at all.Its a very usable, and affective trainer. Compared to other stickhandler trainers, this one pushes you to work harder and longer. With the lights on, directing where you need to get the puck it encourages you to keep the puck moving and as fast as you can.Works great on and off the ice. Took it to a team practice and guys were lined up to see who could get the best score. So cool, it's almost like it's not work.

Meh
So great idea, doesn’t function all the time.Bauer came out with one of these in October, so I thought how cool, I bet I can find one cheaper that does the same thing.WRONGUnfortunately, the sensors are just not sensitive enough. Many of the times my son would try to go through one of the sensors it would not recognize that it went underneath and he would have to pass underneath it again anywhere from 2 to 3 times before it would pick it up.Ended up returning and getting the Bauer one. (even though it was more expensive it’s better to drop the dime and some thing that you know is going to function properly)

Excellent training device and game .
This was a great gift. Good way to engage my mite and encourage stick handling . He wants to bring it to practice and challenge his buddies. I like that it came with 2 puck options . Like other reviews mention the puck has to slide directly under the sensor in the middle for it to register , but that just means they need to work on being accurate more . Not bad enough where it’s frustrating for my 7 y/o first year mite.
