Great 4K restoration
Reviews of this restoration have been mixed online but I honestly couldn't fault it. This is perfect to own in 4K if you love this film like I do. Why wouldn't you want to see 80s William Petersen's crotch in the highest quality possible?Beware UK buyers though, despite loving Kino Lorber's restoration and their sleek slipcover, I was disappointed that I couldn't play the special features as it was region A locked. These can be viewed on YouTube so it's not a big deal, but it's worth knowing before you buy.PS: I would love Manhunter (1986) in 4K so I can run a home cinema double feature. Petersen is fantastic in that too, and the films thematically work with one another.

Classic Film given the Kino 4k Treatment
Classic Film given the Kino 4k TreatmentI ordered from the uk and it took about 5 days to arrive so excellent service , just to note for collectors it did NOT have a slipcover as of order time 4/9/23.The 4k is again a superb Kino treatment with excellent detail and colour, plenty of depth and detail, they are a top notch studio for 4k releases.

Stutters but gets there.
Definitely a sheen above the rest. Has dated with time but even at a 40 year remove the sheer 80s brashness has an unquestionable pull . Would my 20 year old enjoy it ? I fear the music, pacing and gratuitous attempts at acting might scare her off but on plus side Dafoe is at his most malignant, can see the future star smouldering under his calm, devilish eyebrow work. Overall a win and I'll work on getting younger cinephiles over their hesitancies

Classic thriller.
This classic thriller still maintains it's punch. This edition has East Asian subtitles which is a little irritating for an English speaker, since the film is in English.
