Super lens for crop sensor.
This is essentially the 40/2 but for apsc. It is a great lens and you must get it if you have a crop sensor camera. The autofocus is spot on and silent. The image quality is amazing. It really resolves beyond the sensor.

Best prime lens for Z30 [Spring '24]
The Nikon Z 24/1.7 DX is an outstanding lens for the Nikon Z30, especially for video. The small size, solid AF, and fast f/1.7 aperture lend to the DX bodies a full-frame look [36mm FF equivalent], especially in 4k30p.

For Nikon z50
Crisp, sharp, and focused images come from it. Loving it. Very good budget lens and with good aperture.

Sharp wide open an excellent low light lens.
It is for moderate low light photography, but not really low light photography. 5 decades ago a dream low light lens was a f1.2 Nikor 50mm. I believe Leica had a f0.9 lens back then as well. But with today's raytracing modern lenses are almost always superior. Which can focus and shoot in lower light, my D750 with f1.8 50mm, or my Z30 with 24mm f1.7? Usually the Z30.

Just OK for the price
I will just use it low light.16-50 kit lens is sharper in every aspect in daylight. You get very soft images with F1.7,2,2.8 then finally good images start with F4.

Lens autofocus stopped functioning!
After less than 3 months the lens autofocus stopped functioning. Sent it to Nikon and it’s NOT covered under warranty! Meh. Not happy about it. Otherwise it’s a good lens but may have quality issues!! Buyer beware!

way overpriced for what it offers
It is a light, compact, and lovely-looking little lens, but I returned it due to poor autofocus capability. You will miss a lot of shots for fast-moving objects. For an all-plastic construction the lens is also way overpriced. You are paying for the brand name but without the benefit of the quality it is known for. If you are on a budget I suggest you look elsewhere at third-party offerings.

One of my favourite lenses!
Love the 24mm f/1.7! Picture quality is phenomenal, bokeh is great as seen in the 2nd photo. Very good in low light situations, and is my go to for any indoor photos. Autofocus is quick, sharp, I have no complaints, even the plastic mount feels very sturdy (made the switch to Nikon from Canon). Pictures shot on the Nikon Z30!

Best lens for low light street photography currently in dx lineup
Why sellers are hiking up the price....? I got it for 24k.... buy from other sites like imastudent.Regarding lens, the lens is sharp and low light performance is excellent.... but nikon has a slight problem when focusing in lowlight.... so pros and cons as a whole is somewhat balanced 😄Nikon has the best optics in the industry...even the kit lens are extremely sharp and good quality. This lens is good for street photography and photos in the night

Great little lens!
Small, lightweight, bright lens.I really enjoy the lens hood! It's completely different to anything I own, but it's just so handy, barely notice it's there and actually protects the glass really well - I'm never worried about getting fingerprints on the glass! Also, the lens hood is small and doesn't add bulk. It's a small thing that really makes a huge difference - love it!More lenses like this that are bright and relatively affordable please, especially with competing brands muscling in with alternatives. Happy to stay inside the Nikon ecosystem with options like this.

Very Sharp at F1.7
The lens struggles a bit in dark condition. But image quality is very sharp even at f1.7. I originally bought the Nikon 18-140 Z but returned it due to its image quality.I'm happy with the 24mm f1.7 and therefore will be keeping it.** Update **After using it for just over 2 weeks, when I turned on the camera, LCD displayed message saying "could not initialize lens". This happened a few times. The lens made a grinding noise when focusing. I returned the lens and ordered a new one. I hope it's a lemon or damaged in shipping. Will see if the new copy will last longer.
