I needed something to review. I took a job in a new setting and felt like a quick guide would be helpful. This was perfect. It goes through key types of emergencies and walks you through key assessments, considerations, treatments etc. Although listed as a “quick guide” I was really impressed with the amount of detail in each section. I can quickly read through and gain a ton of information.

The triage nurse utilizes critical thinking is every patient encounter. The nurse accesses their internal knowledge, experiences, nursing intuition, and facility policies to optimize patient care. This pocket size reference provides a checklist of possibilities for the nurse to check their thinking to ensure they aren't overlooking other possibilities.

I used this pocket guide as a new grad reference to prepare for my residency program. I found it very helpful and I most appreciate how easy it was to find information in a pinch! It held great insight that I ended up basing my assessments on and ultimately helped me prioritize patient care.
