These are decently padded. They come with the handle detached and then you screw it on. Some plumbing tape would probably go a long way on the threads when you screw it on to prevent it from coming loose easily when hitting them. A couple hits made the handle come a little loose. Overall happy with the item though and wil put it to good use.

They are perfect for playing defense for basketball. They help our girls learn to shoot through contact and also are great for extending the arms for a harder shot.

I used these with my junior high son for basketball training. They worked quite well. My only criticism is that the handles too easily loosen by becoming unscrewed. We simply retighten them and continue. A little glue would solve the problem.

These are junk, the handles are thin gauge aluminum. The handle broke off at the threads that screw into the body of the pad the first light strike on my player shoulder pads.
