We are in South Florida, east coast and have been plagued with annoying woodpeckers banging on our front windows from dawn to dusk, awakening the whole house. One year we put up the foil owl cut-outs, they worked for a year, then the birds got used to the decoys.Then a wildlife expert told us to get two of these Intimidators, put them on the windows, with those foil ribbon strips in between. ( you can find them silver strips on Amazon, too ) Apparently The Intimator has a special combo of colors that mean something just to woodpeckers and are special to their eyes and vision.Then for good measure, I got a 2.5 foot life-life plastic owl ( they are terrified of owls and this thing was scary to ME ) and hung it from the tree outside, by the same window. The Birds have NOT come back.Now we will see how we do next year, but I think that we have this battle won ! I feel like I am in Caddy Shack !

This didn't last more than 6 months and a day before it broke. The company has no warranty for the item so I'm out over $30. The product description states - BUILT TO LAST: Built with all metal components and swivels. you can count on the Intimidator to scare birds away for many years. A great long-term solution over cheap pinwheels to scare away birds. It didn't last !!!!! I requested a replacement and was denied. Save your $'s

I put this up almost a week ago and the woodpecker has not been back. I keep scaring it off every time I heard it, but it kept coming back an hour later. Since putting this up, nothing. No pecking of the house, no drumming, no sign of it. It's built pretty solidly, and held up in some decent winds. It's fairly lightweight, but hangs down even in wind. If it continues to work, it was well worth the purchase.

Is keeping woodpeckers away.The tail spinner got hung up onto the upper spinner but the wind blew it back down

Bought this to keep the woodpeckers away. It really works.

The media could not be loaded. My house was being attacked by woodpeckers. I looked online for deterrents where I found several suggestions. I took a chance on these spinners and they worked immediately. I'm sure it helps that most days there is at least some level of wind blowing at my house, so they do quite a bit of flashing. I've had them since May. It is now September and I've only heard one woodpecker going after my house. It was on a side where I didn't have one of these Intimidators, so I put one up there. In the video you can see the flashing lights that keep the birds away. You can also hear Acorn Woodpeckers squawking in the background, so they're still on my property, just not on my house. Possible downsides: they flash inside my house which doesn't bother me, and they make a bit of a rattling noise when the wind blows at a certain level.

A bird built its nest about 18" from this Bird Intimidator. I'm thinking it isn't very intimidated!

It seems to keep woodpeckers sway so far.I’m not confident with how long it will stand up to the elements though.
