Smooth and not bitter.
Why did you choose this product over others?:My previous Pelican Rouge coffee doubled in price, so I switched to this one. It’s actually better. Still a strength 5, but less bitter. I’m happy with the switch and the price.

Great rounded coffee at a brilliant price
So impressed with these beans! We’ve tried so many types and this is by far one of the best options for the price. 1kg for £10.87! Amazing. As other reviews have said this is a great intense coffee flavour but without any bitterness. Lovely rounded flavour and personally I preferred it to other more pricey branded options but coffee is a very personal thing! Will definitely be buying again.

Reasonably poriced for such a good product
My son's favourite coffee beans and very reasonably priced for such a good product. He has ordered loads of these over time and will continue to do so I believe.

I have to UPDATE! Disappointing after Doppio and Blend 1863
We have drunk a lot of excellent Pelican Rouge coffee but this is not one of them. It is very disappointing and was only purchased when the Doppio and 1836 Blends became unavailable. We will not be ordering any more from this manufacturer until our old blends reappear. This "replacement" has lost most of the richness and full flavours of the old ones. Its not just me, my wife came to the same conclusion at me quite independently.UPDATE 18/09/2023This coffee was not to blame for the drop off in flavour as I switched to it. After trying several different makes and blends with equal disappointment our bean to cup coffee machine finally developed a terminal fault and was replaced with a new unit but exactly the same model, a Melitta Caffeo Solo. What a difference! The current batch of coffee beans which had been very disappointing in our old machine suddenly took on a new strength and flavour. One difference was thar the new machine would grind the coffee a lot finer but that was not the only difference as the old machine had been producing a good cup of coffee with the coarser grind. As the temperature seemed ok I can only think that the machine had developed a sudden drop in pressure which just happened to coincide with the change of beans.Sorry Pelican Rouge, I'll have to give you another try.

Great flavour and texture.
Great value beans. I have an inexpensive espresso machine and and inexpensive grinder but these beans produce a well rounded strong flavourful double shot with a great texture. Will definitely buy again.

Great coffee beans
Tasty for the price. It's strong and great for our coffee machine. I buy this regularly as we go through lot of coffees and I need to stay on budget. Our friends also like to come and have a cup.

Depth of flavour without bitterness
Some of the nicest-tasting beans I've put through my Philips LatteGo machine. I tend to struggle to get enough flavour without bitterness but these beans deliver. For the price you can't go far wrong. A contender for my favourite alongside Amazon's own Brazilian beans.

okay, not great
Not the worst of the cheap coffees on here, but TBH i thought amazon's own-brand version was better. Not so bad that we didn't end up using all of it, but not so good as to plan to re-order it either. It makes for not bad espresso, a meh americano but the cafe-crema was bordering on nasty due to being over-extracted, even on a less fine grind.Taste is obviously highly subjective, but if you're exploring options to the point of bothering to read the reviews - This one wasn't a winner as far as i was concerned.
