DeWalt Quality
Very nice for pruning fruit trees while on a ladder. Got it because of the low offered price.....uses same batteries I already had. Light and easy to use with right hand while reaching. Left handers may have difficulty because of location of safety switch. Leaks a bit of bar oil so I store with a plastic bag tied around the bar sheath.

Handy, small electric chainsaw
Handy electric chainsaw when you need small trimming done. Simple one-handed operation. Much better than using loppers or a handsaw.

GREAT LITTLE SAW!
I love this little chainsaw. I've been looking at them at my local big box and small hardware stored for about a year but the prices were beyond my reach. I don't have large amount of land, but what I do have is about a third wooded, mostly with HUGE oak trees. I have an 18" Oregon chainsaw so that if and when one of those falls it handles it easily. It is, however, big and heavy. Tiny acorns sprout into new oak trees and it's a yearly battle trying to keep up with them, made even more of a pain by the size and weight of the big chainsaw or the tediousness of a hand pruning saw. I tried a reciprocating saw with a good pruning blade and it worked but was still too slow, I already have several DeWalt 20c batteries (original and after-market) so getting the bare tool was a no-brainer. It's perfect for my needs - it blasts through anything up to 7" in diameter and beyond that I'd use the big saw anyway. This one is less than half the weight of the big saw, even with a 6Ah battery, which balances it perfectly. Also, I can't say enough about the seller Toolup of Las Vegas, NV. They shipped my saw, brand-new in the box, the same day I ordered it and it arrived on the specified day, at a great price. Here's a couple of tips. Spend some extra and get the DeWalt biodegradable bar and chain oil. It's what they recommend, will help prevent seal damage and subsequent leakage and, since you should dump any remainder after each use, there are no disposal issues. Next, while the Dewalt chain that comes with the saw is fine, get an Oregon 8" R34. It's a little more aggressive and will make all cutting go a tad faster. Finally, consider getting one or more 16 oz. squeeze bottles for the oil, the kind they use at some restaurants and many people use for cookouts. They allow for precise, no-mess oil-filling. I got two, because this saw and the big one take different types of oil, and it works like a charm.

Light and powerful
This is a very handy tool. I have an 18” and a 20” Husqvarna saw and they’ve been good to me.But they are overkill for many quick jobs.I use Dewalt tools so I had plenty of batteries and they fit this chainsaw. The batteries last a long time. This Dewalt chainsaw would be perfect if it had a micro chain tension adjustment to keep the chain tight but you have to take off the cover and manually pull the bar back to tighten the chain. This is kind of a frustrating process. But I like the saw a lot.

Makes trimming a breeze.
Perfect addition to my Dewalt tools, it's perfect for when you don't need a full-sized chainsaw. This makes trimming much easier, it's compact size makes it maneuverable and easy to use. I typically used my reciprocating saw to trim smaller trunks and branches, but this is so much better. Only issue is oil leak when stored, and I did not noticed the chain getting well oiled when in use.

Handy alternative to my gas powered saw for smaller limbs and brush
Works great. Gets bogged down if lots of chips accumulate but just stop, tap out the chips and continue.I noticed complaints about the handle safety switch being positioned for the thumb of right handers only.I am able to use it with my left hand as well by pushing this switch with my middle finger while using my index finder on the trigger. I also noticed that once the saw is running you can let go of the safety switch and continue cutting.I use a 5 AH battery and it lasts thru a long day of cutting or weeks of occaisional use. Fill the oil when you charge the battery as a rule of thumb.Showed it to a buddy of mine and he bought one the next day -- uses it on his property all the time

amazing little saw
this little saw is amazing. I have used it many times and it will do way more than the manufacturer says.It is battery powered so its strength is limited. I keep the chain sharp. If you are trimming branches standing on a ladder, it is excellent because it is lightweight and doesn't have the torque like a chainsaw to knock you off the ladder.
