Doesn’t fit a 2024 Chieftain
Seems like a quality product, but it does not fit the 2024 Chieftain. There is a relay mounted where the mount bracket would go. The relay is mounted on vibration isolators so it cannot be relocated.

This could have saved me $$$
After spending $600 for a custom solo seat and backrest; I could have keep my factory Indian seat and added this backrest for a fraction of the cost. The quality is excellent and the leather and design compliment my seat well!

Not clear how this is adjustable
The mount installed easy enough, but on a Roadmaster it is not clear how the height of the backrest is adjustable. There is an allen screw that secures the backrest bar to the mount, but I wasn't able to put the seat on the bike with the backrest bar in place. I was only able to put the backrest bar in place after the seat was put into place. This means that the backrest can easily be removed by a thief when I'm not around. Also, how is the back rest adjustable from front to rear? Do I have to bend the bar because I don't see an adjustment. If the seller can provide suitable explanation for the secure up/down adjustment and the forward/backward adjustment, I would be willing to adjust my review. I haven't ridden the bike with the backrest yet, but according to first impressions during install I can't recommend this one yet.

Great, back rest
The base is very sturdy and has four mounting screws. On the side there is also four screws that allow the back rest to move forward and backward nearly 2 inches by only tilting the four screws a half an inch. It is amazing how much adjustment this has in such a small area. The Allen screw has a ball bearing in it that is spring loaded and clicks between the notches on the back support. This allows the back to be lifted and lowered nearly 4 inches. Personally, I like the back all the way down so that I can get on and off the bike. I removed the Alan screw and wrapped one wrap, gorilla tape around the pole so that it did no longer wiggled. I love this back and for the price cannot go wrong by buying this. I made a few adjustments on my mustang seat and installed it on the aftermarket seat. It works great.

2021 Chieftain dark horse.
Does not fit.#1. Seat hole isn't large enough to accommodate the bracket.#2. Tip over sensor on the bike won't allow proper fit.

Great value
At about 1/4 the cost of an OEM item works just as great. Install not difficult. Would like a set screw for the rest but otherwise no complaints.
