Beauty and Quality
When I opened the shipping box, it looked like someone had sent me a gift. The presentation box containing the cutting board makes a wonderful first impression. Then I opened the box and was again pleasantly surprised. My first impression was that the board looked like a work of art done by a craftsman. It was packed on all sides and on the top with foam padding, so it was in perfect condition. Although thick and sturdy, just like I wanted, it was easy to pick with the deeply recessed grooves on each end. I flipped it over to find a wonderful serving surface with a deeper than expected recess for crackers, breads, etc. The grain of the wood is fantastic and gives it a highly customized look. I had searched kitchen supplies for several months, and found that most boards were either plastic or cheaply constructed wood products. When I found quality wooden boards in specialty stores, they cost way more than I wanted to pay. So when I saw the great reviews for this board, I decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did. It is exactly what I wanted. As an added bonus, the board comes with clear cleaning and maintenance instructions that are actually easy to read and accomplish. Be sure to order the food grade mineral oil as you will be needing it to condition the board about once month. And as far as service from the seller, I had a question about whether to oil it prior to first use, so I emailed the seller and received a reply in less than an hour. The answer was that the product is thoroughly oiled prior to shipment, and that it only needs a light washing first, followed by monthly oiling to keep it from drying out and to maintain its original beauty. If you are looking for excellent value and a beautiful cutting board, this product is your answer.

The cutting board is beautiful and sturdy
The cutting board is beautiful and sturdy, and deserves 5 stars just on its own, but it was our experience with the company that made me want to write a review.First, the Board: The color you see in the picture is very accurate and the acacia wood is high quality. As stated in the description it works as a cutting board and as a cheese or display board for hors d'oeuvres. We make sure to only cut on the correct side so we can keep the display side clear. Due to the dark wood the cuts left by knives do leave some light marks that caught my eye but this is mainly because the wood is so damned gorgeous I felt bad for cutting it! The color of the cutting board side has gotten a little lighter as we have used it more, but this was easily restored with a little mineral oil as recommended by Tarek from Sonder LA. (more on this below). The finger holds on the side are plenty deep to get a good grip if needing to carry it while food is on it. We love it so much we decided that it gets a permanent place on our counter after being cleaned.The company: When we first got the board we noticed there was a small crack in one of the long strips of wood in the cutting board side. It was very small and was in the wood itself, not in the seem between lengths. I was going to request and return through amazon but, as a small business owner, I would prefer someone talk to me directly. So I decided to email them directly. I told them that there was a small crack and that I was unsure if they would prefer me use Amazon or if they could help me out. They responded very quickly and were very grateful that I took the time to email directly. Tarek was happy to resolve my problem quickly and sent me a new board. He was very pleased to hear how much I appreciated the board and I could easily see the pride he takes in the business and their product. A couple of days later I had a question about how to properly care for the board (I never thought I would care enough about a cutting board to properly take care of it) and he responded with equally enthusiasm and joy.If you are looking for a high-quality, beautiful cutting board that can also be a center piece in a food display, or even just left on your counter top because it is pretty, then this board is the one. Good for the price - big enough for solo meals
Honestly for the price, I can't find any complaints with this cutting board. I've used it daily for the past year and it's holding up well, plus it's pretty enough to keep out on my countertop. The wear adds character (and lets people know that you're an active cook!)I'm a little shocked at all of the complaints about scratches - have they never used a cutting board before? The point is that the soft wood protects knife blade and prevents it from getting damaged, which will inevitably leave behind scratches in the wood. Just remember to wipe it down after use and oil it every couple weeks.

Best Cutting Board Ever?
In case you're wondering, is a cutting board really that important, you might ask? Yes, yes, and more yes. Just hear me out: you have that flashy chef’s knife. You're ready to whip up a meal in your favorite cast iron pan. How do you get started? You prep your ingredients. Yup, in comes the cutting board, and you'll want it to be a good one as you practice your chop, slice, and dice. That means it should last a long time, keep your knife intact, and not slide dangerously around the counter. And yes, this one does the job and is definitely what you need if you are in the market for a board. Do not be overwhelmed by the "butcher" like size and bulk of this thing, it has some serious advantages. A board like this is great for your knives and they can last forever when well-cared-for. They do get nicks and scratches after extended use, but they are self-healing and close over time. Like bamboo boards, wooden boards need to be treated regularly with food-grade mineral oil to keep them in good condition. In addition it doubles as a cheese board, what more can you ask for? All in all, my use for this board has increased from once a day to twice a day. I think I'm beginning to find excuses just to use it. If you're still on the fence or looking for options, give this a try, I am 100% satisfied with mine.
